PLAYISM has announced the release of Marfusha, a high-tempo tax-paying gate defense shooter developed by indie creator hinyari9. The game is now available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S as of April 6th, 2023.
In Marfusha, players take on the role of a young girl named Marfusha who is tasked with guarding a border gate and defending it against an onslaught of relentless enemies. The game is set in a harsh, pixelated dystopian world, and features fast-paced shooting gameplay with straightforward controls.
Players must collect cash from their heavily taxed income and use it to buy as many cards as possible in order to face increasingly powerful adversaries. The game offers multiple endings, which can be achieved by recruiting various allies to help turn the tide of battle. Players can replay the game multiple times to uncover the full story behind this unforgiving world.
Marfusha includes a range of features, such as:
◆ A wide variety of cards, encompassing weapons, characters, power-ups, chance events, and more ◆ 8 distinct characters available to fight alongside the player ◆ A score ranking in Challenge Mode, enabling players to compete with others around the world
Console versions of Marfusha also showcase a brand new animated opening sequence accompanied by an original theme song, “I’ll be there,” which was created specifically for the game by singer-songwriter KOKIA. The animation was developed by a team that includes hinyari9, as well as Chisey and TOHRU MiTSUHASHi, who previously collaborated on the viral music videos for the game NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD.
