MARVEL Realm of Champions 2.1 Update Full Patch Notes

The story continues as Kabam issued their 2.1 update for MARVEL Realm of Champions, their latest mobile action-RPG brawler. This latest chapter of the planetary Battleworld conflict brings Queen Shuri of the Kingdom of Wakanda front and center as she sends her Black Panthers to retrieve Vibranium stockpiles stolen by the Battleworld’s other Houses.

NEW WORLD QUEST STORY EVENT: THE PANTHER’S DUE

For this world quest, you will be tasked with reclaiming Kimoyo Beads to return to the Kingdom of Wakanda.

Collect Kimoyo Beads daily to reach milestones in Event Objectives for rewards!

A new Beginner difficulty for World Quests is also coming. Now, your Champions will only need to be at 160 Battle Rating to take part in the unfolding story!

Keep your eyes out for new weapons and a gear set for your Black Panther, plus Vibranium-themed pieces of gear for your Hulk, Storm, Iron Legionnaire, Web Warrior, Super Soldier, and Sorcerer Supreme.

The Panthers’ Due event runs from March 22 at 10:00 AM PST until April 20 at 10:00 AM PST!

NEW DEATHMATCH ARENA: PLEASANT HILL

Although the Patriot Garrison has returned to Battleworld for some time now, nobody has been able to penetrate their borders – but that’s all about to change. The Top Secret facility known as “Pleasant Hill” has been breached and a particularly dangerous cul-de-sac has been transformed into a hotspot of cosmic activity. Step into the “suburbs” with the all new Pleasant Hill Deathmatch arena.

WEAPONS UPDATE

To give weapons more individuality, we are adding new passives to weapons and their variants that provide a unique gameplay experience depending on what weapon your champions are wielding.

  • New Weapon Variants will generate exciting new passive abilities to boost your gameplay. Base Weapons of Rare rarities and above will also gain a new passive.
  • Not all Weapon Variants will be available immediately. Stay tuned for more news on exciting upcoming events for your chance to collect these new weapons.
  • Weapons that roll with a passive will lose one stat to accommodate the passive. Weapons that drop without a passive will have an extra stat.

BATTLE RATING CHANGES

DEMOTION BUFFER

After achieving Warrior Tier, you will not be demoted to Recruit Tier until they fall to 200 Battle Rating (instead of 299). If you are promoted to Defender Tier, you will not be demoted to Warrior tier until 650 Battle Rating (instead of 749).

CHAMPION UPDATES

NEW SYNERGIES

Two new Synergy Sets will be introduced with update 2.1. One will have you rampaging all over the map as Hulk and the other will have you studying your opponents’ weak points before pouncing on them as Black Panther to deal massive damage.

RAMPAGE SET FOR HULK

With the new Rampage Synergy Set for Hulk you can generate Rampage stacks every time you hit foes with your attacks or Special Abilities, up to a maximum of 50 stacks! But be sure to keep your Rampage going; if you don’t keep smashing you’ll lose all of your Rampage stacks after 4 seconds of inaction.

KIMOYO ANALYSIS SET FOR BLACK PANTHER

With the new Kimoyo Analysis Synergy Set for Black Panther, you can deal out incredible finishers by building up Kimoyo stacks with your Special Abilities. Consume your Kimoyo stacks to empower your Heavy Attack with potent bleeds, increased critical chance, or to regenerate your heavy charge so you can ready a second strike on unsuspecting opponents!

CHAMPION TUNING

HULK

Hulk is seeing a larger reallocation to his base Attributes to reduce the efficiency of his gear and to allow greater flexibility of his loadout choices. These Attribute changes are in tandem with the changes to his Special Power ratios on his weapons.

Base Attributes
Improved Base Special Power; 79 -> 119 (+40)
Reduced Base Attack Power; 226 -> 186 (-40)

Hulk – Atomic Hammer
Replacing Attack Power ratios with Special Power ratios allows Hulk to have access to more diversified builds; allowing him to have a choice between a Basic Attack-focused or a bursty Special Ability-focused Hulk. Improvements to his Special Power ratios will allow him to gain greater benefits from building Special Power.

  • Light Attack – Bomb Swing
    Reduced Attack Power ratio; 0.28 -> 0.26 (-7%)

Heavy Attack – Demolish

  • Reduced Attack Power ratio; 0.66 -> 0.54 (-18%)

Special Ability 2 – Hammer Spin

  • Adjusted Power ratio; 0.82 Attack Power -> 0.94 Special Power (+15%)

Special Ability 3 – Gamma Smash

  • Adjusted Power ratio; 1.52 Attack Power -> 1.9 Special Power (+25%)

Hulk – Gamma Gauntlets

  • Unlike Hammer, Gauntlets was already using a mix of Special Power. These changes are less severe and are to maintain parity between Hulk’s weapons.

Heavy Attack – Ground Pound

  • Reduced Attack Power ratio; 0.42 -> 0.38 (-10%)

Special Ability 2 – Hulk Smash

  • Adjusted (Punch) Power ratio; 0.36 Attack Power -> 0.6 Special Power (+66%)

SUPER SOLDIER

Super Soldier – Vibranium Shield

  • Improvements to the overall utility of Super Soldier’s Shield Block, allowing Super Soldier to maintain a higher Block frequency by using his shield for shorter durations; his shield will be available sooner giving him much more varied usage.

Heavy Attack – Shield Block

  • Reduced minimum Block duration; 0.6 seconds > 0.1 seconds
  • Added Cooldown refund; up to 70% (based on Block duration)

Heavy Attack – Alternate Kick

When his Shield is thrown Super Soldier now gains a quicker Heavy Attack cooldown and a larger Damage boost to compensate for his inability to block.

  • Improved Attack Power ratio; 0.5 -> 0.6 (+20%)
  • Added Cooldown refund; 70%

Special Ability 3 – Assemble!

Duration improvements to Assemble! give Super Soldier and his team improved mobility, affording more opportunities to relocate and quickly engage on their foes.

  • Improved Movement Speed Buff Duration; 1 second > 2 seconds

Super Soldier – Arc Shield
Damage from his Arc Bash is being reallocated to the beam from Force Shield to reduce the area of effect burst Damage when combined with his Crackdown and to give Super Soldier a more reliable source of Damage outside of his Special Abilities. Cooldown changes to Arc Shield’s Force Shield are to maintain parity between Super Soldier’s weapons.

Heavy Attack – Force Shield

  • Reduced minimum Block duration; 0.6 seconds > 0.1 seconds
  • Added Cooldown refund; up to 70% (based on Block duration)
  • Improved Attack Power ratio; 0.22 -> 0.48 (+118%)

Special Ability 2 – Arc Bash

  • Reduced Special Power ratio; 0.98 -> 0.66 (-33%)

BLACK PANTHER

Black Panther – Vibranium Claws
Black Panther already had a mix of both Power types; we are replacing her Special Ability’s Attack Power ratios with Special Power ratios to gain greater benefits from building Special Power.

Special Ability 2 – Ambush Strike

  • Adjusted Power ratio; 0.3 Attack Power -> 0.52 Special Power (+73%)

Black Panther – Vibranium Spear
Black Panther’s Special Ability ratios were adjusted to maintain parity between her weapons.

Special Ability 2 – Ambush Strike

  • Reduced Power ratio; 0.58 Attack Power -> 0.86 Special Power (+48%)

Special Ability 3 – Hunting Grounds
To compensate for a reduction in Damage, a larger amount of base Armor is provided while Black Panther remains within her Hunting Grounds.

We want Uncommon Synergies to be a viable alternative to more specific Champion Synergies. We are making a number of improvements to give their simpler bonuses much more oomph and scalability to compensate for their lack of playstyle-redefining gameplay.

UNCOMMON SYNERGY – BATTLEWORLD BASTION SET

The Battleworld Bastion Set is a powerful defensive Synergy Set that provides all-around protection in a variety of situations. Mainly benefiting Champions who have a lot of Health, this Set improves their effectiveness with additional Armor and Resistances.

  • Improved Armor while high Health by 100%

Front Line

  • Improved Melee Resistance while high Health by 40%

Deflector Plates

  • Improved Projectile Resistance while high Health by 40%

Hunker Down

  • Improved Armor while Slowed by 66%

  • Improved bonus Health by 17%

Tested Resilience

  • Improved bonus Armor by 133%

UNCOMMON SYNERGY – REALM REAVER SET

The Realm Reaver Set is an offensive Synergy Set that primarily focuses on providing additional Damage to Light and Heavy Attacks. This Set mainly benefits Champions who can jump into battle and engage against already-damaged foes.

  • Improved Critical Power against low Health foes (Health below 50%) by 20%

Stay Down

  • Improved Heavy Attack Power against low Health foes by 10%

Thousand Cuts

  • Improved Light Attack Power against low Health foes by 121%

  • Improved Melee Attack Power against low Health foes by 59%

Stay Safe

  • Improved Projectile Attack Power against low Health foes by 43%

UNCOMMON SYNERGY – CUNNING CALCULATION SET

The Cunning Calculation set is an offensive Synergy Set that provides Special Power bonuses in certain situations. This Set mainly benefits Champions who have powerful Special Abilities that can effectively utilize the increased Power.

BUG FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS

  • Fixed an issue with Health Regen numbers displaying for all allies. This change should also slightly improve performance and stability in matches.
  • Fixed several issues with Sorcerer Supreme’s Orb Special Ability 3 not functioning correctly in certain situations.
  • Fixed an interaction between Super Soldier’s Heavy block and Sorcerer Supreme’s Heavy that would cause Super Soldier to display extra Armor Up Buffs.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Storm’s Hurricane Special Ability 3 to miss if cast at very close range.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed Iron Legionnaire’s Drones Special Ability 3 to be cast twice if interrupted in a very specific window of frames.
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the first couple hits on a Champion or B.O.D.O.K. to not display damage numbers.
  • Fixed an issue with Hulk’s Hammer Special Ability 3 rarely not dealing damage in the correct direction.
  • Fixed an issue that caused poor audio quality during the game’s Tutorial.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause players to sometimes stick to the wall and not be knocked back by the B.O.D.O.K. in Arena Conquest.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause gear values to display differently than the max potential gear power.
  • General localization optimization and fixes.
  • Gameplay bot A.I. improvements.
  • Performance optimization for Android devices.
  • Gameplay and networking optimizations for all devices.
