The dungeon-crawling RPG, Mary Skelter Finale, is set to conclude the Mary Skelter trilogy on Steam this Fall. The trilogy, a collaboration between Compile Heart, Dengeki Bunko, and Dengeki PlayStation, has delivered immersive entertainment across games, novels, and magazines since 2016. Fans can now anticipate the arrival of Mary Skelter Finale on the Steam platform, complete with all the original content found in the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions.
The Steam release also incorporates all in-game DLC, including the romantic visual novel, Mary Skelter: Locked Up in Love – True End. This addition is canonical to the series, while Locked Up in Love – Blood High, also included in-game, serves as a spinoff featuring the characters in a school setting. Players should be aware that both the True End DLC and the spin-off will feature Japanese voices with English subtitles, while the base game will continue to offer English and Japanese voiceover options.
A Grand Finale Bundle accompanies the Steam release, providing an array of content such as the Mary Skelter Job Sets, Death end re;Quest Attire Set, and various character-specific Job classes, including the Kitty Sweater Set and Spa Set. Players can also expect additional items like the Supply Drop and Traveler’s Equipment, which offer useful in-game resources and equipment.
Mary Skelter Finale unfolds in the Jail, a living prison buried 666 meters underground, inhabited by monstrous Marchen and patrolled by the insanity-inducing Nightmares. The story follows Jack and the Blood Maidens, reincarnations of fairy tales, as they attempt to escape the Jail. Players can “Zap” between six character groups to explore their individual stories and relationships while solving puzzles and navigating the perilous dungeons.
The game also introduces Insectmare, Nightmare larvae that can disrupt battle by latching onto the player’s screen and causing various negative effects. Nightmares, seemingly invincible monsters, continue to roam the dungeon floors, challenging players to stay vigilant. Mary Skelter Finale includes digital copies of the trilogy’s three light novels, allowing players to delve deeper into the game’s universe.
For those new to the series or returning veterans, the BEFORE STORY option includes event scenes from Mary Skelter: Nightmares and Mary Skelter 2, enabling newcomers to catch up on the story and veterans to relive the epic narrative of the Mary Skelter series.
