Megadev Secures $1.9m in Series A Funding Round for its All-In-One Game Assistant “PLITCH”

MegaDev GmbH, the developers behind the innovative single-player game experience customization platform PLITCH, today announced that is has concluded its Series A round, receiving an additional $1.9M of funding from existing investors Engelhardt Kaupp Kiefer & Co — early investors in Turtle Entertainment, which became esport’s ESL — who joins a group of private investors that includes high profile individuals such as Ritter Sport CEO Andreas Ronken.

PLITCH allows gamers to easily tailor an ever-increasing list of 2,500-plus PC games to perfectly suit their preferences and optimize their single-player game experience. Whether it’s to train for overall game prowess by increasing game challenges or making less fun aspects easier to get past, PLITCH members retain complete control over their single-player experience.

PLITCH offers a subscription model that several hundred thousand gamers have already embraced — with monthly new registrations in the five-digit range.

PLITCH enables a new level of game customization, which ensures longer gaming fun for users, and thanks to a unique firewall, the PLITCH Gateway, it ensures that gaming experience customizations never occur in competitive or multiplayer sessions.

For Engelhardt Kaupp Kiefer & Co., PLITCH is the second games industry investment. The Stuttgart-based early-stage investor was the earliest investor in ESL Gaming (formerly Turtle Entertainment) — now the world’s largest esports company. This investment is intended to establish PLITCH as the global standard for gaming experience customization and to more broadly popularize the use of trainers and mods for single-player games, enhancing their longevity and optimizing gamers’ experience.

“Nowadays, gamers range from schoolchildren to full-time professionals. From the point of view of game developers, it is almost impossible to create the perfect gaming experience for everyone. PLITCH overcomes that challenge by unlocking hidden game features, saving players time, reducing frustration, and making games more enjoyable on an individual basis,” said Moritz Reck, analyst at Engelhardt Kaupp Kiefer & Co. “As with the ESL, we see the opportunity for PLITCH to revolutionize the gaming world. We are firmly convinced that founders Christian C. Jänicke and Robert Maroschik and their team will lead the company into a successful future.”

“Our focus is on further scaling our PLITCH platform, which is already used by hundreds of thousands of gamers,” added Robert Maroschik, Managing Director and co-founder of MegaDev. “We see a great opportunity for immense growth in an underserved market; as our team’s combination of technical ability and understanding of gamers’ needs will enable us to open up new territories and further enhance our already impressively innovative technology. We are pleased that our investors, old and new, share our vision and will give us an infusion of knowledge and extensive expertise that will help us to grow and expand internationally.”
