Today, Red Bull North America and the League of Legends Championship Series premiere episode 2 of “Metamorphosis” – a new League of Legends® content series. In this unique gaming series, top LoL pro players, streamers, and influencers play together using unorthodox or off-meta team compositions. Players are encouraged to utilize unusual champion roles, and other experimentative play styles while the live-stream broadcast captures funny moments, hilarious losses, surprise wins, and new undiscovered strategies for viewers to enjoy.
In Episode 2, viewers will watch the cast take on three off-meta strategies. The different comps that viewers can expect to see include:
- Wombo Combo 2.0 – One of the original meta comps was the Wombo Combo with Champions Amumu and Miss Fortune that could end a team fight in a heartbeat with their combined Ultimates, but times have changed! Is there a way to evolve the true Wombo Combo and bring this meta comp back to its full glory?
- Attack of the Clones – Champion Neeko was an exciting addition to LoL, but her passive clone mechanic became an afterthought instead of the unique mind-game mechanic it was designed to be. How would that change if more clones were added to the mix and what kind of insane outplays can be concocted when they all come together?
- Split Push + Teleport – Out maneuvering opponents around objectives is one of the core components to winning matches, but decking out a team with a lot of “get to the action quick” abilities can create some seriously unbalanced scenarios. What if a bunch of teleport Champions and a strong split pusher in the top lane are combined to force enemies into consistently uneven team fights?
“Metamorphosis” invites viewers and participating talent to brainstorm and execute unique gameplay strategies in League of Legends that explore niche team compositions and champion builds, while taking risks and challenging how the game is normally played. The series turns LoL content on its head by combining an uncommon approach with creative play styles. The cast will test theories and prove whether they can be successful in live matches for competitors.
