Modiphius Entertainment Makes Business Moves Expanding Senior Management Team, New Departmental Structures

Modiphius Sets Itself Up for the Future with Exciting Team Announcements and New Departmental Structures.

Modiphius Entertainment has been one of the fastest-growing companies in the tabletop gaming space for several years, and today it is announcing internal team changes that are set to take the company to the next level. These changes are aimed at helping to better shape Modiphius’ games, creating them more efficiently and with even more fun in the design. The biggest changes come in the senior management team and structure of departments, designed to create a foundation for the next stage of the company’s growth. Modiphius has consistently reinvested its revenue into the business, its structure, and in future projects, and 2023 is no different.

Sophie Williams (Needy Cat Games, Steamforged) has been hired to head up the restructured rules development department in a new Nottingham-based design studio to create better games with a more efficient process.

As part of the newly restructured Development Department Modiphius has also brought in-house the rest of the creative team at Needy Cat Games in the form of former Games Workshop Designer James Hewitt (Needy Cat Games, Games Workshop). James joins as Senior Game Designer and along with Sophie brings a wealth of experience and a tried and tested process to deliver top quality, cost-effective games at a faster pace than previously possible.

Luc Woolfenden has been hired as Financial Controller, to help streamline and improve financial processes under CFO Rita Birch. Luc joins Modiphius from the civil service where he worked in a variety of finance roles for the Ministry of Justice, the Department for International Trade, and the Cabinet Office.

Samantha Webb has taken on a new role as Head of Brand Management. This newly created department allows for a more aligned strategic direction, marketing support, and brand value, creating a clearer vision and voice for Modiphius’ products. As part of this team, Modiphius has contracted Benjamin O’Brien (Plastic Soldier Company) as marketing manager, and Gregoire Boisbelaud (Dust, Rackham, GAMA) to manage events.

Speaking about the changes at Modiphius, Managing Director Cameron Dicks said, “We are very proud of the growth we have seen at Modiphius, especially considering the difficulties the industry has faced over the last few years. We are now set up for the next phase of that growth; investing more in the board game and boxed projects, generating our own IPs, and maintaining our reputation for high-quality authentic experiences in worlds our fans love to play in.”

CEO Chris Birch also added, “We are very proud of the team at Modiphius. Everyone has played a huge part in growing the business and we are incredibly excited for the coming years including 2 new IPs we are launching in 2023.”
