MONDO GAMES GETS NOSTALGIC WITH TIMELESS NEW FANTASY DATING GAME DREAM CRUSH

Mondo Games is pleased to announce their latest tabletop release, Dream Crush, a nostalgic reimagining of dating games from the ‘80s and ’90s. Brought to life by Found Footage Festival co-founder Nick Prueher, Dream Crush is light, giggly fun that will have you questioning your own taste as you prove how much (or how little) you know about your friends. Hoping to cast a wider net than its predecessors, the game features a more inclusive variety of Crushes in order to bring more players to the table.

“Dream Crush was inspired by the dayglow pink slumber party games of the past.” Prueher explains. “Sitting around talking about having crushes and going on dates – it’s still a lot of fun! This game provides those same feelings while incorporating the wonders and horrors of modern dating.”

Designed for 2-6 players, the goal of the game is to correctly predict which Crush (out of three) each of your fellow players would choose to embark upon a series of increasingly complex relationship milestones with. Every round, new details are revealed about the Crushes – from nicknames and hobbies to quirks and eventually, potential deal-breakers that complicate each choice. Players must reveal and defend their decisions, which become increasingly agonizing, at the end of each round, and points are awarded based on accurate predictions within the group.

Adorned by original artwork by We Buy Your Kids and featuring photography by Carli Davidson, Dream Crush includes a board, scoresheets, 96 unique Crush cards, 75 Milestone cards, and 250 Secret cards. Players are encouraged to customize the blank cards in the game with their own dating experiences for a personal touch. Variable play modes offer “blind dating” that removes physical appearance from the equation, and “long-distance” suggestions for socially-distanced play.

Dream Crush retails for $30 and will be available at MondoShop.com starting Friday, February 5th and will be available in retail stores nationwide the following week.

Dream Crush is just the latest in Mondo’s growing line of games and puzzles, including Stoner Parking Lot and Disney Shadowed Kingdom. Upcoming games include a meditative solo-puzzle game and several new Marvel installments of the the Unmatched series that currently features Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jurassic Park, and Bruce Lee.
