In today’s Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Digital Event, it was announced that Free Title Update 5 will arrive on April 20th, 2023, for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. This update introduces two formidable new monsters, Risen Shagaru Magala and Amatsu, the Looming Calamity. Additionally, the update increases the Anomaly Investigations level cap, adds two Risen Elder Dragons to Anomaly Research Quests, brings changes to the Melding Pot, unveils new Special Investigations, and offers more Event Quests.

The April Digital Event can be accessed on the official Monster Hunter™ YouTube channel, where a new trailer and additional assets for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak are also available.

Amatsu, an Elder Dragon with control over weather, is known for summoning storms and lightning strikes powerful enough to erase a city. Risen Shagaru Magala has used its immense power to dominate the Qurio, becoming even more formidable. Amatsu is accessible from MR10, while Risen Shagaru Magala is unlocked at MR180. Defeating these fearsome foes rewards players with materials to craft new gear with unique skills.

Hunters can now engage with two additional Risen Elder Dragons in Anomaly Research Quests and face more challenges with the increased Anomaly Investigation level cap of 300. The Melding Pot features a new “Qurious Melding” option, enabling further skill customization. New Special Investigations unlock after completing an Anomaly Investigation at level 300, offering monsters with enhanced strength and attack range.

The update also brings more Event Quests, featuring rewards such as poses, Bloodmalice Layered Armor, Buff Body Layered Armor, and Lagombi Ears. A new paid BGM pack, “Monster & Elgado Music: Chill Version,” offers relaxing tunes for hunters. Additional paid DLC options include face paint, layered armor, hairstyles, and more. The voices of Sir Jae and Oboro the Merchant, as well as the hairstyle of genius scientist Bahari, will also be available to players.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on April 28th, 2023. The game will contain content up to Free Title Update 3 (Ver.13) at launch, including encounters like Chaotic Gore Magala.
