Musical Adventure Rhythm Sprout Revealed Today, Free Steam Demo

Screwball comedy and slick rhythm action coming to PC and consoles from Norwegian indies SURT.

The Vegetable Kingdom is under siege by King Sugar Daddy’s army of sweets, and only the Rhythm Sprout has the funky-fresh moves to save the day without missing a beat.

Published by tinyBuild and developed by Norwegian indie studio SURT, Rhythm Sprout will be strutting its stuff on PC, Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. Aspiring musical heroes can break it down on the dancefloor today in a three-stage demo live now on Steam.

Inspired by high-focus rhythm games like Muse Dash and Taiko no Tatsujin, players tap along to the beat as the heroic onion Sprout marches into battle with a spring in their step. Amp up the pace (and BPM) as you chop, slice, and julienne your way through a rogue’s gallery of sugary opponents, as cheerful wandering makes way for intense action.

Designed to be accessible to rhythm game newcomers but still refreshingly challenging, Rhythm Sprout uses a simple three-button control scheme to bounce your way through its crisp and clean beat maps. Score-chasing pros able to activate Sugar Rush score-multiplier mode for those really technical solos you’re just itching to show off with.

Rhythm Sprout is more than just great music, too. Every stage features a unique environment to bounce through, and its own cast of deliciously weird villains. Between dance battles, players will explore the Vegetable Kingdom, meet its strange but charming inhabitants, and maybe get around to rescuing Princess Cauliflower along the way.

As well as saving the kingdom across 20+ story stages, musical maestros will find plenty more to chew on with Rhythm Sprout’s higher difficulty settings and more. Side stories, bonus levels, unlockable modes, and some spicy mini-games await. All part of a balanced musical diet, after all, and saving the kingdom will burn more than a few calories.

Rhythm Sprout will be showcased at PAX East 2022, and a demo is live on Steam today! Players can get an appetizing first taste of the action across three stages (with multiple difficulty levels) and a few moreish mouthfuls of silly stories to get you in the mood to groove.
