Neon Doctrine and Misty Mountain Studio Announce Death Trick: Double Blind

Get ready to solve a gripping detective story in mid-twentieth century America with the upcoming release of Death Trick: Double Blind, a visual novel thriller from publisher Neon Doctrine and developer Misty Mountain Studio. Inspired by the Pulp Art movement of the early 1900s, the game thrusts players into the mysteries of Morgan’s Traveling Circus, where they must gather clues, interrogate suspects, and point out contradictions to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of the circus’s star magician.

Death Trick: Double Blind offers a unique non-linear story with alternating perspectives of two characters, each with their own access to information. As players hone their detective skills, their choices of which clues to pursue, characters to interrogate, and locations to visit will affect the story and lead to one of several unlockable endings. The game features eight fully animated characters, ten unique locations, over 50 CGs, and a comic-style visual presentation inspired by Pulp Art.

With a unique “Collection” mechanic, players must gather, present, and search for contradictions with each and every piece of information in their collection. The game’s atmospheric original soundtrack harkens back to the familiar sounds of its time period.

Death Trick: Double Blind is the latest release from Misty Mountain Studio, led by three female game developers from China. The studio’s previous hit adventure puzzle game, The Rewinder, was released in 2021.

Death Trick: Double Blind will be available on Windows PC via Steam later this year and is available now to wishlist.

Platforms: Microsoft Windows
