New York Videogame Critics Circle Partners with the NY Public Library to Celebrate International Games Day

The New York Videogame Critics Circle, a multicultural non-profit organization of journalists who regularly give back to their communities, partnered with the New York Public Library main branch and TeenLIVE to celebrate International Games Day on Saturday. Harold Goldberg, New York Videogame Critics Circle founder and editor-in-chief, moderated the Games of the Year panel discussion, addressing the surprising return of Nintendo, as well as the best indie games, and whether there are enough games on the Xbox One X to warrant a purchase. Lending their own opinions to the spirited discussion were CNET’s Dan Ackerman, Tom’s Guide’s Sherri L. Smith and Geek.com’s Jordan Minor.

The 10th annual International Games Day event at the New York Public Library is a day to celebrate play, literacy and games at the library. TeenLIVE reaches teens culturally, artistically, inspirationally, technologically and more with the biggest, best, and the brightest stars. The programs spotlight current cultural trends and important mainstays that inform the lives of today’s teens. This event plays perfectly into the mission of the New York Videogame Critics Circle, as members of the organization give back to their communities through programs like the DreamYard Project at DreamYard Prep School in the Bronx, NY, offering mentoring, internships, lectures, job information and college scholarships for intelligent, but underprivileged students.
