Hasbro, Inc. and the Word Game Players’ Organization have once again sponsored the annual North American School Scrabble Championship, an exciting two-day event of ambitious word-based play. On April 1st and 2nd, over 100 players from the United States and Canada will compete in two divisions at the Planet Word Museum in Washington D.C. Fans can catch every second of the action on Twitch.tv/scrabble, where Scopely will be streaming the event.
The North American School Scrabble Championship includes two divisions – the Championship Division and the High School Division. The Championship Division will consist of 42 teams of elementary and middle school players, while the High School Division will feature individual players competing for the title. All players and teams will play eight games over two days, with the top two finishers in each division advancing to the one-game championship finals.
The event will be livestreamed on Twitch TV from 10am ET to 5pm ET on Saturday, April 1st and 9am ET to 3pm ET on Sunday, April 2nd. Viewers who tune in will be treated to live gameplay with expert commentary from Will Anderson, Hannah Lieberman, Jackson Smylie, Chloe Fatsis and Nits Chagti. Additionally, the stream will feature player interviews and more exciting content. Get ready to watch the best young wordsmiths battle it out for the ultimate Scrabble crown!
