Not For Broadcast Propaganda Simulator Out Now With New DLC and VR Support

NotGames, in collaboration with tinyBuild, has released the satirical and surreal news-editing game, Not For Broadcast, on multiple platforms. Players can now experience the chaotic world of the British live television show, National Nightly News, on Xbox One, Series S/X, PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles, Meta Quest 2/Pro headsets, and Steam VR. Along with the game release, the new “Live & Spooky” DLC is also available for purchase on both PC and consoles.

Set in an alternate 1980s, Not For Broadcast lets players take on the role of editor for Channel One’s National Nightly News show. Players must switch between camera feeds, bleep out dangerous or rude ideas, and decide which stories are fit for national broadcasting. The editing desk interface is easy to use, and players can even play sponsored ads of their choosing one VHS tape at a time. However, if audience ratings drop, players might be out of a job.

Not For Broadcast has been a critical and commercial success, selling over 400,000 copies on PC alone. The game’s popularity has prompted its release on multiple platforms, including VR, where players can experience a more immersive news-editing experience. In addition to the base game, players can also purchase the season pass, which includes the new Live & Spooky DLC.

The Live & Spooky DLC is the first of three new chapters coming in the Not For Broadcast season pass. In this chapter, players lead news anchor Patrick Bannon on a mysterious mission to a “haunted” backlot. As players navigate from room to room, they can dig up old secrets or keep things fresh with a little bit of spooky editing wizardry. The story’s ending depends entirely on the player’s choices.

NotGames explains the making of the game in a humorous musical YouTube video that is both informative and entertaining. The game’s release on multiple platforms in 2023 is a testament to its popularity, and players can now enjoy the game on their preferred device, be it PC, console, or VR.

Platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Meta Quest 2, Xbox Series X | S, SteamVR
