Operencia: The Stolen Sun, is Coming to VR in 2020!

The world of Operencia, Zen’s homage to classic dungeon crawlers, will be brought to life when Operencia: The Stolen releases on VR later this year! Players will be able to immerse themselves in over 30 hours of gameplay in a world rife with malevolent monsters, devious traps, and mind-bending puzzles for $29.99. Explore the world of Operencia like never before:

The land of Operencia is an unconventional fantasy world where history meets legend – a faraway land inspired by countless Hungarian folktales. In this turn-based RPG, you will explore the far reaches of the land like never before in a visually captivating quest to free the abducted Sun King, Napkiraly, saving Operencia from endless days of night. As the release of Operencia: The Stolen Sun unfolds into the fascinating world of VR, the game enables total immersion unmatched by other classic RPGs.

Operencia: The Stolen Sun made its debut on the Epic Games store for PC and the Xbox One in March of 2019, and the response was great:

  • Game Informer scored the game an 8.5/10, noting that Operencia “feels refreshingly new… it is a worthy successor to the classics.”
  • GameSpot gave it an 8/10 and marveled at its beauty, saying “Operencia: The Stolen Sun transports you to a realm steeped in magic and mystery, wonderfully detached from all things real.”

It then expanded to other platforms, including PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and GOG.com in March of 2020 and, again, received a positive response:

  • NintendoLife scored the game 8/10 describing it as an “excellent mix of satisfying combat, addictive puzzling and treasure hunting”.

While Operencia: The Stolen Sun released on other platforms prior to it’s upcoming VR release, it was originally conceptualized for VR platforms. Plans to release it on VR were delayed but remained at the core of its design from the beginning. The world of Operencia isn’t just being modified for VR, it was born in it.
