DRAGO entertainment, developer of the OTHERLAND MMO, introduces OTHERLAND: Next with their big Fire Isle expansion. Players can expect to have a completely new OTHERLAND experience with 90 new quests, legendary weapons and the new social class available now, as well as an upcoming overhaul of the UI. Thanks to the close collaboration with Tad Williams, author of the much acclaimed OTHERLAND bestseller series, players get an exclusive sneak peak of the first third of his upcoming novella by completing a special quest.
The massive multiverse of Sci-Fi MMORPG OTHERLAND: Next is extending its borders. With the Fire Isle expansion the game opens up another story-rich region of 5Isle, introducing 90 new and exciting quests spun around the legendary Fire Army within a broken nation that focuses on a large scale civil war. Players will meet up with their old friend SweetieCheng to follow her and the true leader of the isle in their quest to defeat the Celestial Dragon and stop the NeoGrail before 5Isle is lost forever. Legendary weapons have been implemented with the Fire Isle expansion, giving players the perfect gear to dive straight into the great battle.
Inspired by the individual stories created by the development team, Tad Williams, author of the much acclaimed OTHERLAND bestseller series, is releasing a new novella based on 5Isle. DRAGO entertainment and Tad Williams have worked hand in hand to offer a very exclusive quest that will be available shortly after the launch of Fire Isle and that will be especially of interest for fans of the original book series. Players will be able to read the first third of the upcoming novella “The Deathless Prince and the Peach Maiden” by Tad Williams after scavenging the scattered pieces of the story ingame, giving players a head start to read part of the novella way before its release in 2019. Furthermore, the first ten players to solve the quest and hand in proof in form of a screenshot via the Scavenger Hunt competition on the official OTHERLAND Facebook page are eligible to be chosen by Tad Williams to play a role in his next OTHERLAND story (the one after this novella). Players should keep an eye on the Facebook page, where the start of the competition will be announced, to not miss out on this great opportunity.
Besides the new area and quests, DRAGO entertainment has worked on additional changes and features: The new social class works like a secondary game mode, which solely focuses on the social interaction between players, offering a totally different MMO experience apart from the common formula. Players that choose the social class at the start of the game will skip the tutorial and teleport directly to the social hub called Lambda Mall. There they can interact with each other, move around, change their appearances via MetaMorph and create their own player housing in U|Space but not exit the area, fight against monsters or go on quests, except the special Tad Williams Scavenger Hunt quest and the U|Space quest. In case players of the social class decide they want to explore all other adventures of OTHERLAND: Next, they can unlock their character for the normal MMO experience with the help of a NPC in Lambda Mall or create a new character.
OTHERLAND: Next introduces improved server and connection performance by switching the system from UDP to TCP. Players can look forward to an entirely overhauled UI design to follow shortly.
