PlayStation’s State of Play — 09/24/2019 Highlights

PlayStation has delighted gamers with another direct-style video providing announcements and reveals. Last week, PlayStation tweeted that they will be hosting a State of Play featuring information on The Last of Us: Part 2. Gamers were then all in hype mode as there hasn’t been any information on the game other than the couple trailers that were released previously. Now, PlayStation has graced us all with trailers from indie games to top tier names. Check out the list below for everything that was announced during PlayStation’s third State of Play:

    • Tha ltd. — 2020
    • A simple, iconic look belies a deep and unique game that explores the very nature of humankind.
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
    • Infinity Ward — October 25, 2019
    • Infinity Ward has provided a story trailer of what players will unravel in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s campaign.
  • Wattam
    • Funomena — December 2019
    • From the creators of the Katamari Damacy comes Wattam. It looks to have a unique type of art style and theme, but players are no longer rolling a ball building momentum to grow. Based on what was shown off in the trailer, it appears that you are given tasks to complete in either a single or multiplayer mode.
  • Arise: A Simple Story
    • Piccolo
    • A game filled with the feeling of love and loss that will have a rollercoaster of emotions. Start this journey through the bittersweet lives of two people where memories come alive and time bends to your will.
  • Playstation VR Games Montage
    • State of Play showed some love for PlayStation VR owners. The most notable game that was shown was L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files from Rockstar Games (which is available now). Other VR games that were shown were Gorn (Winter 2019), Espire 1: VR Operative (September 2019), Stardust Odyssey (Winter 2019), After the Fall (2020), and Space Channel 5 VR Kinda Funky News Flash (Autumn 2019).
  • Medievil
    • Other Ocean Emeryville — October 25, 2019
    • The classic remake of the original PlayStation gets a demo which is available to download and play today on the PlayStation store. Unfortunately, this is a timed demo that will only be available until October 7th so don’t miss the chance to try the remake of this classic game if you have any interest!
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization VI
    • Firaxis Games — November 22, 2019
    • Civilization VI is finally coming to the PlayStation 4 after it has previously been released on PC in 2016 and then on the Nintendo Switch last year. Take action and create history in this turn-based strategy game.
  • Death Stranding Limited Edition PS4 Pro
    • Kojima Productions — November 8, 2019
    • The next game from Metal Gear mastermind, Hideo Kojima, is around the corner. For those who have not pulled the trigger yet, a limited edition of a Death Stranding PS4 Pro Bundle will be released for everyone.
  • After Party
    • Night School Studio — October 29, 2019
    • From the developers of the narrative driven game, Oxenfree. Play as Milo and Lola, recently deceased best buds who suddenly find themselves staring down an eternity of hell. There’s a loophole though … outdrink Satan and he’ll grant you re-entry to earth!
  • October’s PS Plus Lineup
    • PlayStation shed light on the two free games that will be coming to the PS4 for the month of October. MLB: The Show 19 and The Last of Us: Remastered will be available to all PlayStation Plus Subscribers.
  • The Last of Us: Part 2
    • Naughty Dog — February 21, 2019
    • The biggest reason why PlayStation decided to have a State of Play … Naughty Dog has graced us all with a trailer that looks even grittier than the first mature-rated game. Giving glimpses from traversing the world while riding on a horse, intense moments between characters, and a reveal of a returning character, Naughty Dog also provided a release date of the game which is coming February 2019.
