Private Division Announces Partnership with Game Freak to Create Ambitious New Action-Adventure IP

Private Division, the publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., announced today its partnership with Game Freak, the legendary Japanese development team that created more than 30 entries in the iconic Pokémon franchise. The partnership is aimed at creating a brand-new action-adventure IP, codenamed Project Bloom, which promises to be a bold and tonally different game from Game Freak’s prior work.

Game Freak, founded in 1989, has been known for its highly successful Pokémon franchise that has captivated audiences worldwide for over two decades. With over 30 entries in the series, it has established itself as a prominent Japanese game developer. Private Division, on the other hand, is renowned for publishing high-quality and innovative games.

The new partnership aims to create a world-renowned, ambitious new action-adventure IP, with Private Division as the publisher. Michael Worosz, the Chief Strategy Officer at Take-Two Interactive, and Head of Private Division, also expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that over the past three decades, few studios have released more iconic hits than Game Freak. He went on to explain that they are honored to be the first Western publisher to work alongside such a talented and proven team to bring a bold new IP to market.
