Xiotex Studios is proud to announce that Promethium is releasing on Steam on August the 18th, 2017. The game launches for Windows, MacOS for $4.99/£3.99/€4.99 with a 25% launch discount. A Switch version of Promethium is also in development to be released a later date.
Promethium is inspired by classic Commodore 64 and Arcade games of the 80’s. In it the player takes the part of Commander Braybrook and has to keep the Earth safe from the evil Promethium Armada which is intent on destroying it. If it moves, shoot it, if it doesn’t move – shoot it anyway. Fly left and right over each of the Promethium Armada ships looking for the shield generators to disable, once they are a kill code is sent to them which causes them to self-destruct. It’s not easy though, each of the Armada ships is protected by a fleet of fighters and turrets. You’re not going in unarmed, the experimental deep space fighter you fly has the possibility of being upgraded with more powerful weapons through a cunning power-up system.
Promethium is a hard game born from a dark place. If you’re looking for a nice casual game, this isn’t it – only the brave with the reflexes of a Ninja Cat dare play it.
10% of the first months sales of Promethium will be going to the amazing charity GamesAid through the Just Giving campaign Byron has set up: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/byron-atkinson-jones
