Rover Mechanic Simulator launches on November 12th

Pyramid Games has announced the release date of Rover Mechanic Simulator. The game will leave Early Access on Steam on November 12th. It is being co-published by PlayWay.

“The release of Rover Mechanic Simulator is scheduled for this Thursday. Players’ satisfaction is our top priority, that is why over the last couple of months they had the possibility to test the game in Early Access. Full version reflects the feedback, comments and opinions we received from the community” says Jacek Wyszyński, the CEO of Pyramid Games. “After the PC release we will be further supporting the game with updates & DLCs. Soon we will also start porting it to PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch”

The core of the gameplay in Rover Mechanic Simulator revolves around maintenance and fixing Mars rovers, which are being used on the Red Planet by a research station crew. Players can do this by thoroughly analyzing the incoming requests, accurately determining the defects and using tools such as a 3D printer. After a tiring day of work on Mars research rovers, you can relax by playing hidden retro minigames.

Throughout the development, the team has delivered elements such as the Curiosity rover, Mars Helicopter Ingenuity and tens of additional tasks connected with their repairs, which significantly extended the play time.

As you are developing your skills, the game takes you from easy to increasingly complex repair projects. Starting with the legendary Sojourner rover, which landed on Mars in 1997 during the Pathfinder mission, through more complicated rovers such as MER Spirit and Opportunity, which in the game consist of 395 elements connected by over 800 screws, ending with the newest addition to the game: the mighty MSL Curiosity, which consists of over 437 parts (311 of which are interactive) connected by 1152 screws. Besides providing fun, the game is also a great source of information about the structure of those incredible machines. Players will be able to play with them during almost 30 missions available in the game.

What makes the title stand out is a high level of realism. Very detailed 3D graphics precisely depict the original vehicles that were used on the Red Planet. The game can be considered a sort of compendium of knowledge about equipment dedicated to research activities and exploring Mars.

Up until now the Mars rover simulator was available in Early Access. The game has received over 90% positive reviews on Steam.

“In case of Rover Mechanic Simulator, our main source of information were the blueprints shared on the Internet by NASA. However, some of the details we obtained directly from NASA employees” says Jacek Wyszyński. “It turns out there’s a NASA engineer, who enjoys playing our game and, because he worked on one of the rovers, was very eager to answer our questions regarding those constructions”

This year, from November 6th until December 4th Rover Mechanic Simulator will also be available in Humble Choice.
