Rune Factory 4 Special “Archival Edition” Announced for European Release

Marvelous Europe Limited are today excited to announce the Limited Edition details of Rune Factory 4 Special, the High Definition remastered Nintendo Switch game of the critically acclaimed RPG simulation title that was previously released onto the Nintendo 3DS.

Known as the ‘Archival Edition’ and exclusively available to pre-order soon from the Marvelous Games Store within Europe, this edition will be presented in a beautifully crafted collector’s box, featuring artwork from the game’s character designer, Minako Iwasaki.

This edition will contain a variety of memorable content, including an art book commemorating the work on the entire Rune Factory series, as well as a soundtrack CD consisting of 36 tracks.

Rune Factory 4 Special Archival Edition Contents:

  • Physical copy of Rune Factory 4 Special for Nintendo Switch
  • 160-page A5 sized art book featuring the works of Minako Iwasaki with an original cover illustration.
  • Official soundtrack CD consisting of 33 tracks from the original release, plus 3 new tracks
  • ‘Swimsuit Day’ DLC that adds an option to have characters appear in their swimsuits
  • Premium custom box with original illustration by Minako Iwasaki

A standard edition of Rune Factory 4 Special will also be available physically from selected retailers within Europe and Australia, as well as digitally from the Nintendo eShop when it releases this Winter.

Rune Factory 4 Special marks the return of the beloved entry in the popular STORY OF SEASONS spinoff series that combines farming with dungeon adventuring. The original game on Nintendo 3DS™ system, which has over 300,000 copies sold in North America and Europe, makes its debut on Nintendo Switch in HD bringing the joys of growing crops, raising monsters, and building friendships in an epic fantasy world to players old and new, while seasoned explorers will be delighted to discover features such as a brand new opening movie and the challenging “Hell” difficulty level. Other farm-fresh features include ‘Newlywed Mode’, which introduces special episodes about living the married life with the game’s 12 eligible bachelors and bachelorettes featuring new voices and in-game cutscenes.
