Jagex today launches the Fresh Start Worlds event for RuneScape. Beginning today and running for four months, Fresh Start Worlds will allow RuneScape members to create new characters in a special World where everyone begins on a level playing field. With a brand-new economy, Grand Exchange, Hi-Scores, and an accelerated XP boost for fast leveling, players can return to the core game with their brand-new character once the event ends.
Fresh Start Worlds brings together new and old players to begin their RuneScape experience anew. Running for four months, players will rediscover the land of Gielinor as they return to landmark cities, memorable quests, skilling areas, and boss battles – all with accelerated XP and gameplay boosts. There are also plenty of earned rewards to collect including new cosmetic armor, pet skins, alternative skill capes, and even some rare tradable rewards.
During the first eight weeks of the event, players will be challenged with the race to World First. This will be available to those who achieve 99 to 120 in each skill, the first to achieve the Quest cape (all quests completed in the game) and the first to achieve the Max Cap. Players will have to rely on their RuneScape knowledge during this time as both Treasure Hunter and premium XP benefits (such as the Premier Membership Artifact) will be unavailable during this time. RuneScape players will also be able to utilize RuneScape bonds in order to pay for their membership but are limited to one per week during this initial competitive phase.
Jagex has also confirmed that Old School RuneScape will launch its Fresh Start Worlds event on October 19th when it will run for six months. Unlike in RuneScape, Old School Fresh Start Worlds will not benefit from an XP boost, meaning that players will have to rely on their wits to get ahead. It still offers players the same Old School RuneScape experience players know and love, but they’ll be diving into a world that has a brand-new economy and hi-scores ready to be claimed. Six months after the launch, players will have their characters transferred onto the main game server to continue the fun for years to come.
RuneScape is available now on PC, Steam, iOS, and Android, complete with cross-platform progression and play on PC and mobile.
