Bonus Level Entertainment, a German developer, and Just For Games, a French publisher, has released Saga of Sins, an innovative story-arcade game, on Steam, Steam Deck, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S|X, and Nintendo Switch.
Saga of Sins offers a mystical storyline combined with engaging arcade gameplay. The game’s visual style is inspired by stained-glass art and the work of Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch (1450-1516). Players take on the role of Cecil, a cleric tasked with battling the infamous seven deadly sins plaguing the village of Sinwell, driving them out to save the townsfolk from a deadly plague.
Cecil can enter the minds of villagers to confront sin directly at its source. As he fights sinful monsters and dispels sins, increasingly strange occurrences make him question his own sanity and the reality of his actions. Players must prepare for inner conflict and surprising twists as they navigate this unique gaming experience.
The game’s impressive stained-glass art style, supported by 4K resolution, makes every level and enemy appear as though they were part of a medieval church window. Saga of Sins was funded by the FFF Bayern and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), making it a one-of-a-kind “story-arcade” game.
Saga of Sins is now available for download on PC via Steam, Steam Deck, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S|X, and Nintendo Switch. A retail edition will be available in Europe on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on May 26th, 2023.
