Mobile team-based RPG Skylanders™ Ring of Heroes just added a massive update with new PvE modes – Story Mode and Sparring Mode – in Episode Dungeon and an array of event-based rewards. Developed and published by Com2uS, Skylanders™ Ring of Heroes continues to receive numerous updates since its literal game-changing overhaul in November 2020.
The newly added Episode Dungeon offers in-depth backstories for players aching to learn more about a Skylander’s past. Episode Dungeon includes the following new PvE modes:
- Story Mode – Before and after each battle, players are given bits and pieces of a Ring of Heroes’ “Star Character,” who remains mysteriously shrouded until the mode is completed.
- Sparring Mode – After Story Mode, the Star Character will be revealed as the boss! Each of Sparring Mode’s 20 stages increase in difficulty as players progress through them. It’s a daunting task, but adjustable parameters within each Sparring Stage such as the number of rounds or enemies per round can be adjusted.
After each Story mission or Sparring stage, rewards are given out in the form of Episode Coins. Exchange this currency at an exclusive shop for various items to upgrade Skylanders.
The new update also adds Episode Pass – a type of Battle Pass – which rewards players when they clear missions related to the Episode Dungeon. In addition, the aptly named Cave of Gold opens when a designated amount of gold is acquired each day. Enter the cave, battle and defeat Golden Queen who’s protecting her mountain of treasure to earn, you guessed it, more gold!
Several in-game events will be hosted alongside the update’s release. Complete daily missions to receive dice that are used for acquiring various awards from Tuesday, Feb. 9 to Feb. 22nd. A special daily check-in event and multiple community events will also take place from Feb. 8th to Feb. 28th, with multiple special in-game items up for grabs.
