SONY XPERIA HOLDS HACKATHON DURING GDC 2017

DEVELOPERS INVITED TO GET CREATIVE WITH IDEAS AND ANDROID APPS FOR XPERIA PROJECTOR – THE NEXT INNOVATIVE PRODUCT FROM SONY MOBILE

Calling all Android app developers! Do you dream of making games? How about fun and useful apps for everyday life? Or something so innovative and different that it changes how we use and think about apps?

In conjunction with GDC 2017 (Game Developers Conference) in San Francisco, Sony Mobile is hosting a Hackathon where Android developers can demonstrate their talents on the leading-edge XPERIA Projector – the next innovative product from the Sony Mobile line of award-winning “smart products”.

Established and aspiring developers have a chance to learn more and get early access to the XPERIA Projector hardware. At the Hackathon, they can conceptualize and create a variety of exciting and imaginative Android apps, with the chance of seeing their vision come to life when the XPERIA Projector is out.

WHAT: SONY XPERIA PROJECTOR HACKATHON

WHEN: FRIDAY, MARCH 3 @ Noon/12pm PT start time – SATURDAY, MARCH 4 @ 8pm PT end time (over 24 hours of hacking fun!)

WHERE: MoAD (Museum of the African Disapora; 685 Mission St (@ 3rd St); San Francisco, CA 94105)

HOW: Participants will bring their laptops, work as teams over the span of 24 + hours to develop and create exciting Android app concepts and products that will be seen by XPERIA Projector team members, who will be on hand to help inspire and support participants.
Prizing and awards will be presented to those apps selected by the XPERIA Projector team.

Admission is FREE! Interested participants need to register at: sonyxperiaprojectorhackathon.eventbrite.com. Registration deadline is Monday, February 27 @ 11:59pm.  Participants will be notified in advance of their acceptance but space is limited, so sign ups are encouraged as early as possible.
