Starcraft II Arcade Inspired Hope’s End: A Tower Defense Roguelite Set in a Post-Apocalyptic World

Explorer’s Guild Games is set to release Hope’s End, a post-apocalyptic tower defense roguelite game, on Steam Early Access on April 21st. The game offers an engaging arcade-style experience, drawing inspiration from titles like Starcraft II Arcade and Starship Troopers. A special Alpha Playtest Weekend will be held from April 7th to April 9th, allowing players to get an early taste of the game.

In Hope’s End, players take on the role of the Supreme Psion, the last line of defense against the Blighted, mutated monstrosities that threaten humanity’s survival. The game is set in a world where life as we know it has come to an end, and Hope’s End serves as the final human stronghold. The Supreme Psion must utilize powerful psionic abilities, construct defenses, and deploy weaponry to annihilate the hordes of Blighted before they breach the last bastion of humanity.

The game features a tower defense experience that is easy to learn but difficult to master, with seven unique Specializations for players to choose from, each with their own abilities to help combat the Blighted. Examples of these Specializations include the Fire Specialization, which focuses on incinerating mutants, and the Cosmic Specialization, which creates explosive gravity wells.

In Hope’s End, players have the freedom to strategize and decide how to defeat the Blighted. They can craft mines, turrets, and barriers to protect Hope’s End and upgrade abilities and defenses throughout each run. For players seeking an added challenge, No Hope Mutators can be engaged to increase the difficulty and compete for higher scores on the leaderboards.

Key features of Hope’s End include:

  • Tower defense roguelite gameplay with waves of monstrous foes
  • Seven distinct psionic Specializations, each with unique abilities
  • An Armory for upgrading Psionic abilities and gaining a tactical edge
  • Side objectives that contribute to permanent progress and unlockables
  • Customizable difficulty with No Hope Mutators
  • Leaderboard competition across all Specializations

Hope’s End is set to launch on Steam Early Access on April 21st. Interested players can participate in the Alpha Playtest Weekend from April 7th to April 9th and wishlist the game on Steam.
