Street Fighter Timeline

Street Fighter is a fighting video game franchise that was developed and eventually published by Capcom. It has a compilation of series and the first one being released in 1987 and the other five main series fighting video games followed suit. There was also the inclusion of several spin-offs as well as crossovers. Street Fighter II (1991)

Street Fighter Alpha (1996)

This is a fantastic port of arcade fighting game by Capcom. It has good looking graphics with excellent control. It also has impressive backgrounds. It has a similar character design used by Capcom in Darkstalkers as well as X-Men: Children of the Atom. The character designs are highly influenced by Street Fighter II. It has a total of 10 playable characters with 3 unlockable fighters. Street Fighter has all-new stages with music as well as endings for certain characters. Street Fighter EX

Street Fighter EX Plus was an immediate upgrade that was released in 1997 and it came with extra characters onboard. Street Fighter EX2 became a sequel and was released the following year, 1998, and was for ZN-2 hardware. The following year there was an upgrade of Street Fighter EX2 which came in as Street Fighter EX2 Plus. Street Fighter EX3 was the third game featured in the series and was launched in 2000 for PlayStation 2. The game featured the tag team system whereby a player has the potential of fighting a maximum of three opponents at the same time. There was also a mode that allowed a player to give Ace, the new character, an option of super and special moves that were bought using expensive points. The list of characters was more compared to the former game.

Street Fighter III

This is a New Generation game that was debuted in 1997 in the arcades. Street Fighter III eliminates some of the characters that are seen in previous games but maintain Ryu and Ken. There is the introduction of new characters and grappler Alex is the most common character here. Gill replaces Bison as the main antagonist of the game. There is the Super Arts as the selection system and there is the ability of a player parrying an attack by an opponent. There was also the introduction of Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact with few adjustments. There was the introduction of two new characters and we see Akuma return to be used as a playable character. We also see the introduction of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike which was released in 1999 which was the final of Street Fighter III. This introduces four new characters and Chun-Li comes back.

Street Fighter IV

This game has had three different versions: the vanilla SFIV, Super Street Fighter IV, and the newer version Ultra Street Fighter IV. The Ultra Street Fighter IV is the $15/£12 upgrade of SSFIV: AE. This was perceived to be an immediate sequel of Fighter II games especially the Super Street Fighter II Turbo. It features the introduction of six new characters with twelve world warrior characters, and Akuma appears as a hidden character. It features a complex 2D fighters making it a hard game to master. The game requires to be played several times so that the entire character list is unlocked. This is also played in a very special way, and just like any other game in the series, you can carry out super combinations but without the air blocking as well the parrying styles. There is the Super Street Fighter IV that has ten extra characters with other two new which are new. The online experience is improved and includes the latest modes of play. It was launched in 2010 for PlayStation 3 as well as for Xbox 360. The Ultra Street Fighter IV was another version of Street Fighter IV which was released as an arcade game in 2014.

Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V is a video game that was released in 2016 exclusively for PlayStation 4 as well as PC for cross-platform gameplay.
