Stunlock Studios today have published the new ‘Songs of Vardoran’ trailer, a showcase of the music set to the backdrop of the areas in V Rising and the moods they evoke. In their latest Dev blog, community manager Jeremy Fielding interviews Aleksandria Migova, the composer behind the music of V Rising. The atmosphere of V Rising has been receiving heaps of praise from players and one of the big contributing factors is the music, providing a ‘forsaken, mysterious and soul-touching ambiance to the vampiric actions happening within Vardoran.
Aleksandria gives some insight into her process when creating such an important world-building aspect to V Rising: “I used a lot of strings, woodwinds, ambient soundscapes, and warm evolving string phrases. One of the main and returning instruments of the album is a sampled ‘Huberman’ Stradivari violin from the year 1713. Even if the music is a modern production, I really wanted to have fragments of old, almost ancient-sounding instruments in the mix, communicating the rich and mysterious history of Vardoran.”
