I think one of the main issues gamers have when it comes to purchasing a flight stick is that setting it up can seem a bit overwhelming. You have rudders, axis, triggers, hats, and all types of random buttons! Then where do we put it? Do we need a special chair or a certain size desk to accommodate the hardware? It can be a bit overwhelming for newer users and this all comes even before we start playing a game! I would say a flight stick purchase is even more intimidating than a racing wheel. Thrustmaster who I believe manufactures the highest grade custom peripherals introduces the T.Flight Full Kit X which is designed to take away most of these headaches. An easy-to-use plug-and-play versatile flight stick that has everything you need to get started flying priced at $199.99.

I think it’s important to keep this review on the simple side because I believe this product is more fit for gamers looking to get their foot in the door. But please don’t feel like if you purchase this kit you will be limited either. It’s the happy medium for people who want to enjoy flight simulation games like Microsoft Flight Simulator, Elite Dangerous, or Star Citizen but don’t want the super intense setup. Variety gamers will have the most appreciation for this product due to its ease of use. I just want to plug it in fly then swap it out and go play some MOBAS when I’m done. Thrustmaster has done an excellent job in capturing a high level of immersion while still delivering a quality product at a very affordable price.

At its core, it’s simply an Xbox controller in the shape of a flight stick. T.Flight Hotas One (The main joystick and throttle) is detachable which adds setup placement versatility from a custom-designed chair to just casually setting it in your lap. Its rudder system is absolute “Gas” built with standard Thrustmaster quality and high-grade aluminum materials. It also features a first-of-its-kind Sliding Motion Advanced Rail Track technology on a 4 rail self-centering rudder axis with a long range of travel. With the longer travel on the rudder, it feels much harder to make mistakes (Dedicated to all the heavy button mashers). It’s important to remember we are essentially working with an Xbox controller so there are some button limitations for more demanding games like Star Citizen. You can either reprogram the T.Flight Hotas One in a more simple manner or what I did was run a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard just under it with all my nonsense out of combat keybinds.

We don’t have to go deep into the performance, compatibility, or quality of the T.Flight Hotas One Full Kit X. In the end it’s another Thrustmaster manufactured peripheral. Thrustmaster does nothing all day but sit around and make the most bad A$$ gaming peripherals on the planet hands down. You plug this kit in via one USB port and then download the control panel and you are off. A one-button update and some minor stick testing got us all ready for flight. There are more advanced options in the control panel for those who want to get a little bit more technical.

As a variety gamer who enjoys every genre of games, this is the perfect kit for me. I don’t want any more of a headache or any less of an experience. I would buy this kit all day for $199.99!
