Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., a leading video game publisher, and developer, has announced that TEKKEN 8, the highly anticipated next entry in the legendary fighting game franchise, will be conducting Closed Network Tests (CNT) across consoles and PC. This is an exciting opportunity for players to get a firsthand look at the game’s new features and changes to the battle system. Registration for the CNT is now open, and the sessions are scheduled to begin on July 21st, 2023. TEKKEN 8 will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

TEKKEN 8, developed by Bandai Namco Studios Inc., aims to deliver the most visually stunning and action-packed experience in the series yet. One of the standout features in this installment is the introduction of a new “aggressive” fight system that encourages players to adopt an offense-first play style. By rewarding those who stay on the attack, the game ensures that the action remains intense and fast-paced throughout. Furthermore, TEKKEN 8 breaks barriers by implementing cross-play functionality, enabling players to compete against each other regardless of the platform they choose. This inclusive approach raises the level of competition and fosters a vibrant community of players.

In addition to experiencing the new battle system and cross-play feature, participants in the Closed Network Tests will have the opportunity to play “Ranked Matches” and contribute to shaping the game’s mechanics and features. This engagement from the players ensures that TEKKEN 8 will reflect the desires and preferences of the community.

The TEKKEN 8 CNT will offer online head-to-head competitive play with cross-platform matching. Testers will have access to 16 playable characters, including the previously revealed ones such as Jin, Kazuya, Jun, Paul, Law, King, Lars, Jack 8, Xiaoyu, Nina, Leroy, Lili, Asuka, Hwoarang, and Bryan. Additionally, a new fighter named Claudio will be exclusively available for the CNT. To provide diverse battlegrounds, there will be five stages available for testing: Urban Square, Yakushima, Rebel Hangar, Sanctum, and Arena.

The testing phase will be divided into two sessions. The first session, Week 1 CNT, will take place exclusively on PlayStation 5. The dates for this session are from July 21st at 1:00 a.m. PDT to July 24th at 12:00 a.m. PDT. However, it’s important to note that there will be a maintenance period on July 21st from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. PDT, during which the CNT will not be playable.

The second session, Week 2 CNT, will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. This session will begin on July 28th at 1:00 a.m. PDT and run until July 31st at 12:00 a.m. PDT. A maintenance period is also scheduled for this session, on July 29th from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. PDT.

It’s worth noting that players who register for the Week 1 tests on PlayStation 5 will also have the opportunity to participate in the Week 2 sessions, expanding their chances to explore the game and provide valuable feedback.
