Terraria Launches Update 1.4 Journeys End Today on PlayStation 4, Xbox One

Terraria, the action-adventure sandbox developed by Re-Logic (PC) in collaboration with DR Studios (console/mobile) and published by 505 Games, unearths a new adventure with the launch of the Journey’s End update on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today. This update is also playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Journey’s End adds to the critically acclaimed cultural phenomenon with new modes, enemies, bosses, and an improved user experience.

Face the toughest challenges yet with Master mode, a difficulty setting that makes combat more deadly but ups the risk-reward factor with special boss item drops. Try Journey mode, a “God mode” sandbox experience with item duplication, weather control, adjustable spawn rates, difficulty sliders, and much more.

New allies, special weather-based events, fresh activities (up for a relaxing round of golf between battles?) await. Enjoy Terraria at its best yet with a litany of improvements, from UI reworks to expanded town systems.

Rise to the ultimate challenge in Master mode, where combat difficulty intensifies but each defeated boss offers unique rewards. For a relaxed experience more focused on fostering imagination, Journey mode provides extra options like item duplication, weather control, adjustable spawn rates, difficulty sliders, and much more.

Battle new bosses like the bullet hell-inspired Empress of Light and the imposing Queen Slime. Track enemies, allies, and critters with a helpful Bestiary. Take a break from slaying monsters by playing Golf. Wander through new weather-based events like Lantern Nights and Meteor Showers while exploring new biomes from Graveyards to the Oasis. Enjoy new music including the “Journey’s End” title theme, and a track from Terraria contest winner Xenon and DSniper.

Journey’s End also enhances Terraria with a host of quality of life changes. Block Swap makes building more intuitive, while Void Vaults help manage player inventory. Graphical overhauls, boss health bars, UI improvements including more customization, and a split-screen interface make it easier to focus on the fight. Town Pylons and NPC Happiness expand the town system, eventually granting the ability to build a teleportation network to towns around the world.
