The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story Set to Enthrall Mobile Gamers with its Live-Action Mystery Adventure

Square Enix has revealed that its immersive live-action mystery-adventure game, The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story, will soon make its way to mobile devices. Initially released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam for PC, the game is now scheduled to debut on Tuesday, April 25 on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story is a haunting murder mystery directed by Koichiro Ito, known for his work on Metal Gear Solid V, and produced by Junichi Ehara, who contributed to NieR:Automata. The game places players in the role of Haruka Kagami, a mystery writer who must employ her deductive skills to unravel the truth behind four enigmatic deaths that have occurred within the Shijima family over the past century. The game’s distinct combination of live-action sequences and high-quality cinematography creates an authentic and captivating Japanese story.

For its mobile release, The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story has been adapted to utilize touch-screen controls, providing a more intuitive gameplay experience. In addition, various quality-of-life improvements have been implemented to enhance gameplay aspects. The game’s immersive narrative features Nanami Sakuraba as Haruka Kagami and Yuta Hiraoka as Eiji Shijima, the Shijima family heir who comes back to his hometown to assist in uncovering the mystery surrounding his ill-fated family.

To celebrate the mobile release, The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story will be available at a reduced price of $17.99 USD until May 10, after which it will return to its regular price of $19.99 USD. Players can take advantage of this limited-time discount by pre-ordering the game on the Apple App Store or purchasing it on the Google Play Store upon its launch.
