Neon Doctrine and Tanuki Game Studio introduce a new futuristic graphic adventure inspired by Jorge Luis Borges’ short story.

Neon Doctrine, a leading Southeast Asian game publisher known for popular indie titles such as Yuppie Psycho, The Legend of Tianding, Lamentum, and the SIMULACRA series, has teamed up with developer Tanuki Game Studio to release The Library of Babel. This stealth platformer and graphic adventure game is now available on Windows PC, Xbox One and Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and Nintendo Switch.

Drawing inspiration from Jorge Luis Borges’ short story of the same name, The Library of Babel is set in a world 20,000 years after humanity’s extinction. In this post-human society, advanced robots govern and maintain order, but the discovery of the Library, which contains all the knowledge ever written, threatens to plunge their world into chaos.

Players assume the role of Seeker protagonist Ludovik, who is sent to Mesopotamia to investigate a murder case. Upon arriving at the Colony’s data mining outpost, Ludovik encounters a state of emergency that complicates his investigation. With assistance from Lei, a contact within the Colony, Ludovik slowly uncovers the truth and tracks down the murderer, encountering a range of peculiar characters along the way.

In The Library of Babel, players must interact with the jungle’s inhabitants and explore its most dangerous areas to unravel the mystery surrounding the Library’s sudden lockdown. To survive in this futuristic world filled with strange creatures and lethal enemies, players must rely on a combination of stealth and cunning to infiltrate heavily guarded locations.

Key features of The Library of Babel include:

  1. Immersive 2D Babylon: Beautifully hand-drawn 2D environments bring the overgrown and futuristic world to life.
  2. Classic Systems: Dialogue and inventory management systems reminiscent of the Graphic Adventure games of the ’90s.
  3. Dangerous Environment: Players must navigate deadly obstacles and avoid formidable enemies, as Ludovik prioritizes agility and stealth over violence.
  4. Stealth Is King: Ludovik must move silently through the terrain, climbing to new heights or quietly taking down enemies when necessary.

The Library of Babel is available for purchase at $18.99 USD on Windows PC via Steam (Steam Deck Verified) and the Epic Games Store, Xbox One and Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and Nintendo Switch.

Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck
