The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Delayed, A Statement from Daedalic Entertainment and NACON

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum™ to receive more time for polishing

“A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to”
– Gandalf the Gray

The Lord of the Ring: Gollum will be released on PC, PlayStation®4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

You were probably expecting the Miyamoto quote, huh? Trust us, Miyamoto-San’s wisdom is perfectly applicable in this case as well, but this is one of those times when Gandalf’s words are equally as fitting.

The decision to push a release date in favor of the game’s quality is something that we will always celebrate and support. Hell, even Bilbo himself needed a little extra time before he embarked on his adventure. It’s only fitting that we extend the same courtesy to our disfigured Hobbit friend, Gollum.

Daedalic Entertainment and NACON would like to thank all players for their patience and support so far. During the past several years, the team has been working hard to share our vision of a remarkable story, set in a breathtaking world, filled with magic and wonder. We are dedicated to meeting our community’s expectations and uncovering the untold story of Gollum in a way that honors the vision of J.R.R. Tolkien.

That being said, in order to deliver the best possible experience, we have decided to push the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum™ by a few months. We’ll update with an exact timing in the near future.

Daedalic and NACON are grateful for their passionate community and will be happy to share this unique adventure with them soon.
