Starting on October 18th, players will have to do all it takes to survive as Rick, Michonne, and Negan.
Today, Hi-Rez announced a Crossover between their third-person tactical shooter Rogue Company and Skybound Entertainment’s world-famous comic series from creator Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead.
The legendary franchise The Walking Dead is renowned for its gritty outlook on surviving a civilizational collapse and its aftermath – after the near-entirety of mankind has turned into flesh-eating walkers. Since 2004, Rick and Michonne have already survived so much, but in Rogue Company they will face Rogues smarter than walkers and better equipped than wasteland scavengers. That is if Negan and his blood-thirsty bat Lucille do not have their revenge first.
Lancer will become Michonne, wielding her uncompromising Katana and supporting the group leader and main protagonist, Rick, as a Dallas outfit. Negan will try to take over as an outfit for the equally chaotic Dima.
Each character also has a ‘Classic’ black and white version, strikingly faithful to the comics’ rendering. Development-side, all those outfits are considered ‘Tier 5’, the highest quality. Other themed cosmetics will be available, including a Wingsuit.
For this collaboration, the Rogue Company teams have spent months painstakingly incorporating the classic art style from The Walking Dead comics using a technique similar to cel-shading for a flawless result.
All The Walking Dead content will be available as direct purchase on October 18th with the release of the corresponding Update for Rogue Company.
