TILTING POINT AND EDGEWORKS BREATHE NEW LIFE INTO TERRAFORMING SIMULATOR TERRAGENESIS WITH 5.0’S PLANETARY-SIZED EXPANSION

Tilting Point and Edgeworks Entertainment have launched TerraGenesis 5.0, a transforming massive update to TerraGenesis, their indie terraforming game rooted in real data and science from NASA. The biggest update to hit the game, TerraGenesis 5.0 delivers a deep, near-photorealistic outer-space experience with a completely redesigned graphics engine, improved interface and gameplay features — in addition to seven historical versions of earth to terraform, native aliens to make contact with and the ultimate challenge for expert players in world killer events.

TerraGenesis 5.0

In TerraGenesis, players can create and care for the life on their planet while turning it into a thriving paradise. Featuring realistic science and accurate maps, players are confronted with challenges and opportunities as they transform their world and create a new and unique society on the surface of each and every planet they visit.  Building on TerraGenesis’ foundation, the 5.0 update is a result of Edgeworks’ commitment to realism and innovation, as well as quality improvements based on community feedback. Already downloaded over 10 million times, the game earned Edgeworks a Mobile Game Awards nomination for Best Indie Developer in 2018.

TerraGenesis 5.0 Graphical Comparison

Starting today, players can enjoy the following updates in TerraGenesis 5.0:

  • Historical Earths – A new bundle of seven playable worlds representing seven eras of Earth’s history, from the Dawn of Life to the Age of the Dinosaurs, the Ice Age and beyond. Historical Earths will feature a unique storyline that spans all seven worlds.
  • Natives – Planets now feature procedurally-generated alien species with unique needs, settlements and cultures. Players must decide if they can they find a way to coexist with an indigenous civilization that needs different conditions to survive, or will they conquer and terraform them into extinction?
  • World Killers – Planet-scale threats such as asteroid impacts. World killers are unexpected and lead to down-to-the wire races, kicking-up the difficulty for veteran players who must learn to protect their planet from an impending extinction-level event.
  • Improved Faction Identities – Each faction now has a rich culture, history, unique artwork and specific take on terraforming. Factions will have different opinions, and may even want to terraform a planet back to its original form and beauty — even if that is inhospitable to humans.
  • Redesigned Graphics Engine – Rebuilt from the ground up, this new graphics engine creates near-photorealistic planets and breathtaking details for each world — from the sunrise off the side of a planet to the twinkling of city lights on the nightside.
  • Game Polish and Refinement – Optimized gameplay with more efficient display of information and greater player agency, along with a completely revamped tutorial system.
