Ubisoft has officially launched Year 5: Season 1 for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, introducing exciting new content to the popular online multiplayer game. Season 1, titled “Broken Wings,” brings a fresh twist to the target manhunt mechanic and offers players a range of new features and experiences, including Leagues, an apparel event, the return of Global Events, and the highly anticipated “Descent” rogue-lite mode. Coinciding with this release, The Division 2 also celebrates a significant milestone, reaching 20 million players. Season 1: Broken Wings is available to all The Division 2 Warlords of New York owners and Ubisoft+ subscribers, while the Descent mode is accessible to all Division 2 players.

The story of Season 1 revolves around a crucial development following the attack on the White House. The Division uncovers the fact that 11 individuals have gone missing and cannot be accounted for. These missing persons hold valuable intelligence on the White House and The Castle Settlement. Players will undertake a high-stakes rescue mission to locate and recover these missing civilians. Their safe return is paramount, as it will help rebuild The Castle and restore essential services for The Division.

Mari Singh, the former Director of the DC Aquarium, is the primary target of Season 1. After moving into The Castle, she established a fish farm to support the settlement and create a sustainable and secure environment for her growing family. Agents must locate and rescue Mari, along with four other hostages, before further harm can be inflicted upon Washington DC. Their successful retrieval will not only save lives but also contribute to the rebuilding efforts and restoration of crucial services within The Division.

In addition to the rescue mission, players will have the opportunity to earn several rewards during Season 1, including the Electrique Gear Brand Set, Cavalier Gear Set, St. Elmo’s Engine Exotic Auto Rifle, Shocker Punch Exotic Holster, Cabaret Named MP5 ST, and Big Show Named MG5 LMG. These valuable items will enhance the gameplay experience and provide additional firepower and customization options for agents.

One of the most highly anticipated additions to The Division 2 is the “Descent” mode. This rogue-lite mode takes place in a high-tech underground bunker, where Division Agents enter a special training simulation. In Descent, agents must leave behind their gear and SHD tech as they attempt to overcome the AI in charge of the simulation. Players will navigate through various rooms, defeating enemies, bosses, and the ultimate opponent, while acquiring new weapons, skills, and talents along the way. Descent can be enjoyed solo or in co-op mode, adding a new layer of excitement and challenge to the game.

Moreover, players can look forward to the release of the Descent soundtrack on Friday, June 9th, available on all major music streaming platforms and the Ubisoft Music YouTube channel. The captivating music from the game will further immerse players in the thrilling atmosphere of Descent.

As part of Season 1: Broken Wings, players will also have the opportunity to participate in the Escalation Apparel Event starting June 20. This event allows players to unlock apparel items inspired by SHD tech and the Black Tusk, offering unique customization options to showcase their personal style.

Year 5, Season 1 brings a host of additional content, including new weapons, gear, and a variety of vanity items for players to engage with. Those with the Premium Season Pass will gain access to exclusive rewards such as nine new weapon skins, ten new gear dyes, three new emotes, three new arm patches, a special Year 5 Season 1 vanity outfit, and a coveted Splinter Cell outfit. Additionally, a new helmet will be available as the Level 100 reward, offering a prestigious item for dedicated players to strive for.

With the launch of Year 5: Season 1, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 continues to captivate players with its engaging gameplay and evolving narrative. The addition of the Broken Wings content introduces exciting challenges, rewards, and experiences for both new and seasoned agents. As players embark on the high-stakes rescue mission, explore the Descent mode, and collect exclusive gear, they will be immersed in a world filled with intrigue and danger.
