The latest edition of this iconic cycling game brings a host of improvements, including the highly anticipated “Downhill of the Moment” game mode. Set to release on June 8th, 2023, Tour de France 2023 will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
From Bilbao to Paris, Tour de France 2023 invites players to participate in major races on the cycling calendar, such as the renowned Tour de France, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Flèche Wallonne, Paris-Nice, Critérium du Dauphiné, Paris-Tours, and Paris-Roubaix. Players assume the role of a rider for one of the 27 World Tour and Pro Tour teams across various game modes.
The game introduces several exciting features, including the returning “Race of the Moment” mode from the previous edition. Additionally, a brand-new challenge awaits players with the introduction of the “Downhill of the Moment” mode, focused solely on thrilling downhill stretches, requiring unique strategies. Players can compare their rankings with competitors from around the world for added excitement.
Tour de France 2023 enhances realism with a more detailed rating system that includes Agility and Medium Mountain ratings, resulting in unexpected incidents such as falls within the peloton and influencing the path riders take. The strategic gameplay allows players to devise different strategies based on their team members and their individual statistics. Updated rider equipment is now rated based on quality, providing a more immersive experience.
Distinctive bibs, including “Super Combative” and “Best Team,” add a new layer of challenge to the game. Various technical improvements have been made, including enhanced collision mechanics, improved AI behavior, and refined pathfinding for riders on downhill stretches.
