Town Hall 11/28

Thank you to everyone who attended our first town hall since the release of Legion. We answered a lot of questions, talked about a lot of options, and I think we’re headed in an excellent direction moving forward. For anyone who was unable to attend, I took some notes on the topics for you to look at. We can continue the discussion on the topics here.

1.) Raid progression, composition, direction, and loot

We talked about how the guild is going to be more progression focused. With newer content being the primary objective of our core raids. We’re not going to spend a lot of time on prime raid nights farming older content. That being said, if you need gear from this content, it’s going to be in your best interest to come on one of the off nights.

We talked about the group makeup and how people who may not fit the mold would possibly be asked to flex out or sit for a fight if they’re underperforming or just not necessary for the specific boss.

We also talked about the ways to dish out loot in a raid. We know we’re using the EPGP loot system but we’re still hashing out exactly how we’re going to be using it. Whether it’s going to be a completely points based system, a loot council system, or a mix of the two. Look out for more discussions on that.

We also talked about raid times and what times would work best for people in the raid. Since we’ve got a lot of people and not everyone was in attendance we’re going to table that and take it to a poll where we can get the input of everyone involved.

2.) Carry nights, alt runs, and participation

We talked about how, on our off nights, we’re going to put our focus on farmed content that isn’t progression based. The content will have set item level requirements and people matching those requirements will be invited to join. I’d love it if our progression team could come along for these nights as they will go by a lot faster if they show. These raids will be used as a benchmark to see what our raiders, maybe some raiders that haven’t shown up to other raids, have up their sleeves. You can even come on alts if they meet the gear requirements.

3.) Recruitment

We talked about how we’re going to get people into our raids. With over 600 active people in the guild currently, it’s surprising that more people aren’t jumping at the chance to join. We think maybe that’s because they just don’t know what we’re doing. With that, I’m asking anyone who is running mythic+ or PUG groups to keep an eye out for people that should be in our raid. Ask them why they’re not and see if they’re interested in coming along for some of our off nights.

4.) Website design

We talked about a LOT of improvements that could be done to GamingLyfe’s WoW section here to make it more accessible and easy to use for our members and potential recruits. I will be working with Theo on that in the next week or so to get something hashed out that we can all put our seal of approval on. Some of the improvements requested are:

  • Recruiting page
  • More hits to GamingLyfe
  • Drop LOG / EPGP page
  • Communication (forums, etc)
  • Ease of use, get what you want when you want it
  • WoW streamer carousel
  • Roster list

There were other things that we talked about, including the possibilities for some new and exciting things on the weekends. And the continuation of these kinds of meetings. That being said, our next town hall meeting will take place sometime in December.
