It’s been close to 3 years since the release of Turtle Beach’s bestselling generation 1 Stealth 600 headset. It was a best seller for a reason, at the price point of $99.99 it gave you features headsets had in the $200 plus range. Generation 2 preserves what everyone loved about the Stealth 600 but at the same time adding massive upgrades refining the headset for today’s gamer. If you are more of a Stealth 700 type of gamer here are the release dates for the rest of the Gen 2 products. No need to worry about next-gen console compatibility Turtle Beach will have it all worked out by the release day for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

- Stealth 600 Gen 2 – Available in black and white versions for Xbox One and Xbox Series X will follow on Sept. 20, 2020

Right of the bat, you will notice my favorite new feature which is the mic boom now retracts into the headset nice and flush. In our original review of the Gen 1 Stealth 700 which had the same mic boom system as the Gen 1 Stealth 600, we felt it took away from its daily lifestyle usage. While the mic boom was retractable it remained exposed off the left side of your earpiece. Personally, I do not want to look like I am in a full-blown Esports competition all the time. That is all in the past now you can rock this new headset with all your freshest drip in either the white or black version. A larger higher quality mic has been added for chat clarity which still has the flip-to-mute feature.
Compatibility:
- Stealth 600 Gen 2 Headset Xbox – Xbox Series X & Xbox One | Windows 10 PCs
- Stealth 600 Gen 2 Headset PlayStation – PS5™*, PS4™ & PS4™Pro | Nintendo Switch™
A whole new level of comfort was achieved with Gen 2. It is 100% more comfortable than its predecessor in every way. It has a new “D” shaped earpiece which fits the ear more naturally while also increasing noise cancelation giving you a more immersive experience. A New ProSpecs technology that is so comfortable, the earpieces and headband are much softer now providing you with extended comfort designed to be glasses friendly. Its headband and hinge have been reinforced with a more durable design. It is still an exceptionally light headset maintaining its ability to be worn for long late-night gaming sessions.
Superhuman sound has been the trademark that has described Turtle Beach’s sound technology for the past 3 years. Sound quality has never been an issue with the Stealth 600, but they did make improvements to the 50mm speaker. An audio preset button now allows users to quickly access customized audio. Its audio overall has been improved from the design and software aspect, it’s an absolute stunner. Its transmitter is much smaller now but still will easily connect to all your devices listed as compatible. If your me though you will easily lose it. 2 dials on the left earpiece allow you to adjust chat and desktop sound separately just like gen 1. It is a feature that allows you to really dial in what your hearing without effecting the audio of your live stream or recording.
Still priced at $99.99 we believe the Stealth 600 will maintain its title as Turtle Beach’s top seller. It’s a phenomenal headset at the price but unfortunately, it does not come with a Bluetooth built-in. You will have to spend $50 more to get the Stealth 700 Gen 2 in order to use it with all your favorite mobile devices. If you are looking to get the most out of your money in a gaming only headset the Stealth 600 is your jam.
