Amidst turmoil in recent weeks surrounding the Overwatch League the Vancouver Titans have agreed to part ways with almost its entire team. Most recently OWL MVP and face of the brand Jay “Sinatraa” Won retired to start a carrier in Valorant. Not too long before almost the entire casting desk decided to quit. It’s a make it or break it type year for the OWL as it heads into its third cycle.
A thank you was issued in “A Letter to our Fans” posted on the team website stating.
We would like to thank Titans fans for your patience during this difficult period. The organization and the team have been dealing with a very complicated situation which included sensitive information and player confidentiality made even more challenging by the COVID-19 pandemic. We as an organization want to ensure we communicate effectively and will continue to try to get better in this regard as we grow as an esports team and an esports organization.

The following players/staff have since agreed to mutually part ways with the team:
HyoJong “HakSal” Kim
Minsoo “Seominsoo” Seo
Seongjun “Slime” Kim
Chunghee “Stitch” Lee
Juseok “Twilight” Lee
JeHong “RyuJeHong” Yu
Yangwon “Yang1” Kweon (coach)
Jae Hong “Andante” Hwang (coach)
The team has also released Chan Hyeong “Fissure” Baek.
The Vancouver Titans went all the way to the grand finals last year resulting in a loss to the San Francisco Shock. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and most of their players living South Korea, it was decided they should fly home and remain with there families until further notice. Initial plans were to join the Asian division and play a new schedule from the player’s homes, but this was said to open up a new set of challenges. Time differences, management difficulties, fan base connection, and technical challenges ultimately led to the decision to part ways.
Overwatch League just can seem to stay out of the news these days. What will it be next, good or bad?
