Gaijin Entertainment, the creators of the popular game War Thunder, has announced the start of open beta testing for their newest game, War Thunder Mobile, exclusively available on Android devices. Players can download the game in APK format from the official website, and it will soon be released on Google Play and iOS devices in the coming months.
Originally named War Thunder Edge during its announcement in November 2022, War Thunder Mobile has undergone several stages of alpha testing, resulting in its final name. During the open beta, there will be no reset of player progress, meaning any unlocked vehicles will carry over to the release version.
The main focus of War Thunder Mobile is large-scale cooperative battles of legendary ground, naval, and air vehicles, reminiscent of World War II-era vehicles such as the Il-2 ground-attack aircraft and Leopard tanks from the Cold War era. The game employs physically correct flight and damage models, so players must study the internal architecture of each vehicle, key components, crewmen, and armor layout to effectively destroy their enemy. The game controls are intuitive and easy to use, so players can quickly get started and become victorious.
War Thunder Mobile includes over 200 units of the most interesting and well-known models of tanks, ships, and aircraft from all eras. One such example is the battleship Yamato, which has not yet appeared in the original War Thunder. The game also features submarines in naval battles and unique content and mechanics specific to War Thunder Mobile, with even more to come in future updates. The progression system, created specifically for War Thunder Mobile, allows players to effortlessly try out equipment from different countries, including legendary German Tiger II tanks and modern American fighting vehicles such as M3 Bradley. Future updates will include the Abrams family tanks.
