Darkmatter Games has released updates 5.0 and 5.1 for its immersive strategy game, Warlord: Britannia, enhancing the gaming experience with new features, mechanics, and an improved tutorial.
The “Logistics and Outposts” update, version 5.0, marks the fourth major content update on the official Early Access development roadmap. It introduces a new layer of complexity to the game, focusing on managing two additional resources: Food and Supplies. Players must ensure their troops are well-fed and supplied to avoid debuffs and maintain buffs. To visually represent these new resources, two units – the Servant and the Mule – have been added, which automatically scale with the army’s size and manage logistics.
Outposts have been designed to encourage aggressive playstyles. When placed and manned by troops, outposts provide an “oppression” bonus, nullifying unrest effects and boosting production at the nearest settlement. However, players must balance their forces between outposts and the main army.
Update 5.1 enhances the tutorial, offering a Quick Start guide and a reworked Field Guide. The Quick Start guide provides step-by-step instructions, while the Field Guide offers in-depth information on advanced gameplay features. Both new and returning players can benefit from these improved resources.
As the developer crosses the halfway point in planned updates, the next major update, “Animals and Ambience,” will be preceded by “additional building options and structures.” Warlord: Britannia promises more content and enhancements for its players.
