The Wizards Release Date Announced With a Mixed Reality Trailer

Carbon Studio is happy to announce that their action-adventure VR spellcaster The Wizards will leave Early Access on March 8th. With the full release, players will get a chance to slay fearsome creatures in new story chapters and upgrade all their spells to more powerful variants.

The Wizards, available on Steam and Oculus Store, features an unique system of casting spells with hand gestures that allows players to really feel like powerful wizards conjuring fire, lightning, and other elements in combat. Along exceptional spellcasting mechanic, The Wizards features acclaimed narration and voice acting by Jason Marnocha, as well as upgradable elemental spells to learn and master.

During seven months of Early Access, the developers of The Wizards introduced plenty of new content to the game, including new spells, new types of enemies, and new levels that more than doubled the length of the game. The team has also redesigned the movement scheme of the game to address players’ feedback, going from node-based teleportation to free movement and free teleportation.

In the final update, The Wizards will receive three new story chapters (including a boss fight against a fierce dragon) and Master Enchantments – alternative versions of all the spells that can be earned through in-game challenges.

The Wizards will be fully released on Steam and Oculus Store on March 8th, 2018 priced at $20. After this date, Carbon Studio team will focus on the Playstation VR version of the game that is scheduled to release later this year.

Free Locomotion:

Six weeks after the early release, Carbon Studio introduced a Free Locomotion Update. This update introduced new ways to explore the world in place of the old scheme, allowing players to choose between free movement and free teleportation to any flat surface in reach. In addition to the new movement types, the update featured new map areas, item pick-ups, and new interactive world elements, crafted to encourage and reward thorough exploration.

Arena Mode:

In November, Carbon Studio introduced the second major update – Arena Mode. It invited players to assail endless hordes of enemies on two brand new battle arenas and compete with other players on a global leaderboards. Along with brand new levels, Arena Mode introduces new hub, new enemy types, unique Fate Cards and a progress system independent to the campaign.

Fate Cards:

Fate Cards are modifiers that can change game difficulty and rules to the player’s liking. They increase replayability and accessibility, making the game satisfying for both challenge seekers and casual connoisseurs. Fate Cards modify score multiplier according to the game’s difficulty, allowing ambitious players to reach higher places on the leaderboards.
