Xbox E3 2019 Highlights

E3 (Electronics Entertainment Expo) is the year’s largest event for video games when it comes to announcements and events. E3 is available to the public now … so it’s not just accessible to those in the gaming industry. Microsoft kicked off the press conferences by giving an E3 Briefing — showing off what it has in store in the coming years. Check out the list below for the highlights of what was announced during their briefing.

The Outer Worlds (Obisidian Entertainment) – 10/25/2019
The developers of Fallout: New Vegas and creators of Fallout showcased additional gameplay and a bit more of the story … basically what to expect for their next game. It all looks promising and a game to keep on your radar!

Bleeding Edge (Ninja Theory) – Alpha starts 06/27/2019
The developers of DmC(Devil May Cry) and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has made a fast, 4 vs 4, team brawler where each fighter has their own abilities enhanced for mayhem.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps (Moon Studios) – 02/11/2020
This wonderful and beautiful game just looks amazing. With incredible visuals and great platforming, gameplay gamers will no doubt have an emotional experience playing this.

Minecraft Dungeons (Mojang) – Spring 2020
An all-new, action-adventure game inspired by the classic dungeon crawlers in the style of Minecraft. Play with up to four players and fight together in local and online co-op modes.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (Respawn Entertainment) – 11/15/2019
Gamers saw a glimpse of this highly anticipated game from a well-beloved franchise.

Blair Witch (Bloober Team)
In an unexpected, horror/looking trailer that features a first-person, story driven, psychological horror game … the gamers were presented with a Blair Witch game.

Cyberpunk 2077 (CD Projekt Red) – 04/16/2020
Keanu Reeves steals the show with this announcement! A trailer was shown showing off the gameplay and then … out comes the breathtaking Keanu with a reveal trailer and release date.

Spiritfarer (Thunder Lotus Games) – 2020
A cozy management game about dying. As a ferrymaster to the deceased, build a boat to explore the world, care for you spirits friends, and guide them across mystical seas.

Battletoads (Rare)
Gameplay was finally shown for this well beloved, 2D, beat-em-up remake. The game looks incredible in its hand drawn style — but unfortunately, no release date was provided.

RPG Time: The Legend of Wright (DeskWorks) – 2020
The game provided hand drawn visuals and looked to be a tabletop, RPG inspired game.

Montage for Indie Games showcasing Xbox Game Pass
Xbox had more details for PC Gamers who subscribe to Xbox Game pass. Available today are Batman Arkham Knight, Metro Exodus, Hollow Night, and Borderlands Handsome Collection. Also, Halo Masterchief Collection Day 1 when that is available. The pass is currently available for $1 just because it’s E3. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was also announced providing Game Pass for Console, PC, and Live Gold for $14.99.

Microsoft Flight Simulator (Microsoft) – 2020
An amazing-looking flight simulator from the latest installment from the 2014 Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (Forgotten Empires) – Fall 2019
The well-loved game is back and playable in 4K, fully remastered audio, and a new campaign mode.

Wasteland 3 (inXile Entertainment) – 2020
A party-based, role playing game with a renewed focus on complex story reactivity and strategic combat.

Psychonauts 2 (Double Fine) – 2020
Double Fine joins Xbox Game Studios and showed off more of the game.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Traveller’s Tales) – 2020

DRAGON BALL GAME – PROJECT Z (CyberConnect2) – 2020
An action RPG that features Goku and the Dragonball gang!

12 Minutes (Luis Antonio)
An interactive thriller about a man trapped in a time loop.

Way to the Woods (Anthony Tan) – 2020
An endearing deer game with magnificent art.

Gear 5 (The Coalition) – 09/10/2019
Play four days earlier on Game Pass and also features a crossover — Terminator Dark Fate.

Dying Light 2 (Techland Publishing) – 2020
A trailer showing off more zombie and parkour action with this survival-horror, action RPG.

Forza Horizon 4 X Lego (Turn 10 Studios, Playground Games)
A trailer showcasing the fantastic visuals of a racing game while also showing off a collaboration with Lego.

Gears Pop! (The Coalition, Mediatonic) – 2019
A mobile game of the popular Gears franchise … as Pop! Figurines.

State of Decay 2: Heartland (Undead Labs) – Available Now
An expansion to State of Decay.

Phantasy Star Online 2 (Sega) – 2020
The popular online RPG game that was only available overseas is coming to the states via Xbox and PC.

Crossfire X (Smilegate)
A shooter that is more popular than Call of Duty in Asia is coming to the west as a free-to-play game.

Tales of Arise (Bandai Namco) – 2020
A JRPG that looks like it’s going to be a doozy.

Borderlands 3 (Gearbox Software) – 09/13/2019
A new trailer showing off the zany action and world that is Borderlands. Also, a new DLC was announced for Borderlands 2 called Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary.

Elden Ring (FromSoftware)
The developers of the Dark Souls franchise and George R.R. Martin are teaming up to make a game — and you can bet it will be rich with lore.

New XBox Console (Project Scarlet) – Holiday 2020
The new console coming from Xbox was announced and not many details were announced … other than variable refresh rates, hardware accelerated ray tracing, next generation SSD with 40x performance, up to 120 FPS, GDDR6 memory, unmatched power and speed, and will launch with Halo.

Halo Infinite (343 Studios) – 2020
Halo is back — but not only Halo. Master Chief is back and showed that the mission failed.
