In today’s new episode of Dying 2 Know More, Dying Light 2 Stay Human composer Olivier Derivière (Streets of Rage 4, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Vampyr) shares the inspiration behind the main theme “Run, Jump, Fight” and explains the custom instrument built from scavenged metal that brings to life the game’s soundtrack, which was recorded in Abbey Road Studios by the renowned London Contemporary Orchestra.
Together with Derivière, the London Contemporary Orchestra (Alien: Covenant, You Were Never Really Here) recorded the Dying Light 2 Stay Human OST in the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Stream the main theme, “Run, Jump, Fight”, on YouTube now.
As if pulled right from the game world itself, the Electric Psaltery is a custom-built metal instrument featuring wires which can be plucked or bowed, each corresponding with specific characters from Dying Light 2. The “wheel of fate,” an old bike wheel resting atop the instrument, can be heard in-game when making major decisions that affect the fate of the world.
