Red Bull Capture Point, the competition for the in-game photography community that empowers creatives to develop their skills is back! Bringing together a passionate community to celebrate the growing virtual photography scene, Red Bull Capture Point will invite PlayStation gamers from nine countries to capture and share their most epic gaming moments for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have their work showcased in a physical exhibition in New York City.
One ‘Best in Show’ winning entrant from each of the nine participating countries will be invited on an exclusive trip to New York, where they will be able to attend and have their work displayed at a ‘Best in Show’ Gallery Exhibition, alongside workshops with renowned photographers that will help take their skills to the next level.
This year’s competition will focus on two huge PlayStation games from this past year: Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7. Aspiring virtual photographers can submit captures into four different categories. Each category will be open for a two-week period and will have its own unique requirements of the type of capture to submit. The category requirements will be presented a few days before each period and can be found on https://twitter.com/redbullgaming or the competition website.
- Entries for Red Bull Capture Point will be open from September 5th to October 30th with each category open for a two-week period, starting with New Beginnings.
- To enter, gamers need to simply capture their epic moments in Horizon Forbidden West or Gran Turismo 7, and upload their captures to Twitter via the PlayStation Network using a specific Red Bull Capture Point hashtag for the country in which they are based.
- A panel of expert judges will rank submissions per category using criteria that emphasize the interpretation of the theme, the technical execution, and the uniqueness of the concept, to reward creativity and skill.
- Several significant personalities from the scene including Kate Reed (@kaytanaa, US), Petri Lev alahti (@Berduu, Sweden), and lead judge Mik Bromely (@TheFourthFocus, US) will hand-select the best entries.
- A total of nine ‘Best In Show’ winners – the best from each participating country – will earn their way to a once-in-a-lifetime trip to New York, while each category winner will receive exclusive prizes from Red Bull, alongside a PlayStation®5 console and peripherals to help continue their passion for virtual photography into the next-generation of gaming.
