Com2us teams up with Amazon for global Summoners War tournament

– Eight high-level Summoners War players to compete for a prize pool of $25,000 USD
– Tournament to be live streamed by Twitch on June 24
– Competitors to be represented by players from the game’s growing influencer community

Com2us today announced its flagship RPG, Summoners War, will be among three mobile games to take part in Amazon Appstore’s latest mobile esports tournament: the Mobile Masters Invitational 2017.

Eight high-level Summoners War players and influencers will face off in an elimination tournament for their share of a $25,000 USD prize pool at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on June 24. The players will compete in a high pressure PvP format, and those who lose a match will be given a chance at redemption by achieving the quickest time in a speed running segment called “The Revival Challenge: Dungeon Run.”

The Mobile Masters (M2) tournament will be live streamed by Twitch on June 24 and hosted by television personalities Maria Ho and Ali Nejad with play-by-play commentating by popular Summoners War influencers Childish402 and Claytanogame. The event will provide edge-of-the-seat entertainment for all Summoners War fans, including interviews with the players, match replays with strategic breakdowns by expert commentators, and instructional content designed to teach a new audience how to play the game.

Com2us’ participation in the M2 tournament comes at a time when the company is advancing its efforts as an emerging leader in the growing mobile esports space. Further, with Com2us holding high its investment of expanding the Summoners War IP into a MMORPG spinoff for 2018 and a range of new verticals from merchandising to Film/TV entertainment, the company’s involvement with Amazon’s M2 tournament is anticipated to bring even greater exposure to the brand. Of the three games to feature at the tournament, Summoners War will also be the sole title to receive a full day’s worth of programming.

“We’re very excited to participate in the M2 tournament to bring greater awareness of Summoners War as well as produce quality, exclusive content for the game that we’re sure will elevate Com2us in the mobile esports arena,” said Casey Lee, CEO of Com2us USA. “By teaming up with Amazon, we were able to create a tournament program and experience that we’re sure will resonate with all fans of competitive gaming.”

Amazon’s M2 will be the first large-scale Summoners War tournament to be held outside of South Korea. In March, the company hosted its first four-team World Arena tournament in Seoul which attracted some 600 fans. The event was broadcast on OGN, a games-focused satellite channel and livestreamed on the network’s YouTube channel.
