Evo 2024 Sets New Record with Over 10,000 Competitors

Largest Tournament in Esports History Surpasses 10,000 Unique Competitors

The Evolution Championship Series (Evo) has officially claimed the title of the largest tournament in esports history, boasting over 10,224 players from 63 countries. The 2024 edition, scheduled for July 19-21, marks a significant milestone as it relocates to the iconic Las Vegas Convention Center.

Leveling Up the Competition

Since its inception in 2002, Evo has been the battleground for the fiercest fighting game competitors. This year, it solidifies its legendary status with the largest brackets ever for TEKKEN 8, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. The roster of games also features fan favorites like Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear -Strive-, Under Night In-Birth II Sys, Mortal Kombat 1, and THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV.

Rick Thiher, Evo’s General Manager, highlighted the community’s growing passion, stating, “Every year, we see more players bringing their A-game to Las Vegas. It’s amazing to see generations of players, both veterans and newcomers, battling it out and forming a vibrant community.”

Arena Finals Experience: A New Era

In collaboration with Chipotle, Evo 2024 introduces the Arena Finals Experience. This epic 8,500-seat main stage will spotlight the Top 6 finals of all eight featured games, promising a spectacular showdown for competitors and fans alike.

Craft Your Own Evo Adventure

Evo is more than just a tournament—it’s a celebration of fighting game culture. This year’s all-inclusive ticketing system lets fans create their own Evo journey. Attendees can seamlessly transition between the Arena Finals and the Show Floor, which will be buzzing with activities across all three days.

Show Floor Extravaganza

The Show Floor is packed with attractions, including Evo’s largest arcade ever, expansive casual gaming zones, Artist Alley, Vendor Village, Publisher Booths, a new art gallery, photo opportunities, and the Beyond the Arcade Stick Museum. A highlight is the Cosplay Contest featuring special guest judges and dioramas for unique photo ops. Additionally, an art gallery showcasing the history of the Fighting Game Community (FGC) will be a must-see.

Future of Fighting Games Unveiled

The Evo Showcase is back, offering a dedicated stage for publisher panels, game reveals, and exhibitions, keeping the FGC in the loop about the latest developments. Fans can also join watch parties on the final day, hosted by well-known personalities like Maxmillian Dood, RDCWorld, and members of Sajam Slam.
