Thunderful Collaborates With Developer FuturLab on a New Sci-Fi Adventure

Thunderful Publishing has partnered with Brighton-based developer FuturLab for their next sci-fi adventure, a stylish, high-intensity third-person combat game described as the spiritual successor to the award-winning Velocity series.

FuturLab is best known for its acclaimed arcade speedrunning series Velocity, which includes Velocity, Velocity Ultra, and Velocity 2X, which received a 90 Metacritic score upon its 2014 launch on PlayStation Vita. Recently they have created Powerwash Simulator, a game that quickly became everybody’s darling.

“FuturLab is celebrating its 18th birthday this year, and we’ve had the greatest gift of Thunderful signing our ambitious new IP,” said FuturLab Founder and Creative Director James Marsden. “It sees our studio returning to sci-fi action, possessing the same DNA as Velocity, but with far more ambition, style, and contemporary relevance. It is nothing short of a dream game, and we cannot wait to share it with the world.”

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with FuturLab, an experienced studio with marvelous critical acclaim,” said Thunderful Head of Publishing Dieter Schoeller. “The game, prototype, and vision presented to us is second to none! While we can’t say much yet, we can be sure that the project launched with James and his team will delight gamers worldwide with a refreshingly new take on the action genre, presented with stunning visual style and super-tight gameplay mechanics.”
