Rediscovering the Dawn: A Fresh Take on a Classic Saga with 9th Dawn Remake

In a bold move that’s got the gaming community buzzing, Valorware revisits its roots with the upcoming release of 9th Dawn Remake, a complete overhaul of their inaugural title. British indie developer Tom Au, the brainchild behind Valorware, aims to breathe new life into the game that started it all for him and his team.

A World Reimagined

The 9th Dawn Remake isn’t just a visual update; it’s an entire reworking of the beloved original. This version introduces cutting-edge 2.5D graphics, alongside an entirely new first-person mode, adding depth and immersion to the exploration. Not stopping there, Valorware has also implemented a 2-player local co-op feature, allowing friends to team up and tackle the game’s extensive content together. For those looking to snag a bargain, Valorware is celebrating this new release by slashing the price of 9th Dawn III: Shadow of Erthil by 50% on Steam.

An Expansive, Engaging Experience

Like its predecessors, the remake promises a colossal open-world RPG experience. Gamers can easily lose themselves for over 200 hours in a sprawling universe where they can complete quests, collect unique loot, and even raise monster pets. With dungeons galore and a refined combat system, the game stays true to its roots while enhancing player interaction with a streamlined quest system.

Innovative Mini-Games and Enhanced Gameplay

Adding to the excitement, 9th Dawn Remake features intriguing mini-games like Fishing Survivors and Deck Rock. In Fishing Survivors, players can engage in a whimsical bullet-heaven fishing game where strategic fishing can yield a bountiful catch, enhanced by exploration and unlocking new areas. On the other hand, Deck Rock offers a strategic card game experience where players build decks to conquer dungeons, inspired by popular titles like Slay the Spire and Roguebook.

Developer’s Vision and Dedication

Reflecting on the journey, Tom Au shares, “The original 9th Dawn was my first finished game, after eight previous failed attempts at making an RPG – which is the reason it’s called 9th Dawn. It had its issues and didn’t fully realize my vision due to the limitations at the time and some lingering bugs. However, I always had a vision to remake it, and now, after more than a decade and several successful releases, including 9th Dawn III, I’ve given it the attention it truly deserves.”
